Rap And Destroy

Buffalo, New York's own Rap And Destroy, a new powerhouse hip hop outfitof four artists who blur the line between hip hop and punk, thus producing a wholly authentic sound of their own.

Back in August, Rap And Destroy released the eponymous effort on BandCamp for both digital and physical purchase. The physical purchase, however, is not a CD or a vinyl record... it's a cassette. The tapes, which are still in stock, allow the outfit's fans to experience the seven track album in a novel, old school fashion. Rap And Destroy do keep the times in mind, though, and each of those tapes comes with a high quality download code.

Rap And Destroy consists of four different independent hip hop and punk artists that have all worked extensively in the industry outside of this collaboration. Ideal is the lead vocalist of Peacebridge and MegaPowers, and he's influenced heavily by the melodic 'golden age' of hip hop. SparKmatiK is a skater-punk with a talent for production and performance. He produced nearly all of Rap And Destroy's new album. OLMEC is a vocalist for a local punk band in Buffalo called Skateboard. He's known for his bombastic and theatrical performance style - one of the many reasons Rap And Destroy are a must-see this fall on tour. Finally, Tr38cho is a particularly talented songwriter who engages his audiences with in-depth lyricism and tactful, grungy delivery. He's known for his hip hop solo album, 'Trecubessence.'

At its core, Rap And Destroy is four emcees with chemistry and camaraderie creating exciting, dynamic new music. Their debut album is an excursion through punk-infused hip hop absolutely worth picking up this year. The indie hip hop community is an inundated one. There is an incalculable amount of noise throughout its halls. Rap And Destroy, however, stand out as an outfit worth keeping tabs on. They break through that noise.
