Rareluth

Rareluth is a duo based out of Lafayette, Louisiana. Members include vocalist and keyboardist Christine Peirce and percussionist Blake Ortego. The two also perform with a third member on bass for live shows.They formed in 2011 to create a fresh independent sound centered around vocal melodies and the strong electronic keys, drum and bass dynamic.

Christine and Blake previously performed with Blake's founded local electronic dance band kid midi.

The two have done several national tours with various projects. Most notably Christine performed and toured with Lafayette band Givers for a period of four months playing over 30 shows across the country with them.

Performing for about a year and a half together, Rareluth has opened for Of Montreal, Delicate Steve, The Bright Light Social Hour and Yip Deceiver. They have also opened for local favorites Feufollet, Brass Bed, Royal Teeth, Prom Date and Vagabond Swing. Venues include the Parish at House of Blues and the Howlin' Wolf in New Orleans, The Spanish Moon and Chelsea's in Baton Rouge and the majority of venues in Lafayette. Additionally they have performed Downtown Alive at Parc Sans Souci and also headlined at the Parc International Stage.

Lafayette's The Daily Advertiser has said about the band, "Rareluth is equal parts indie pop and electronica, thanks to the combination of Ortego's busy beats...and Peirce's buzzing keyboard lines and powerful sultry voice…Imagine a more attractive Lady Gaga, without the constant fashion shock with a voice comparable to Feist.. With each live show, they want to cast a wider, more enchanting spell..."

They have attained rotation on radio stations throughout Louisiana including KRVS, KLSU and WTUL.
