Rarely Mellow Blues

Rarely Mellow Blues is a 4-piece outfit. We play Blues, Soul, Rock, Pop, and original material that has a fresh and reminiscent sound. Every player has been in and out of the DC music scene for the past 10 years. Consisting of mostly music educators RMB brings a pride to their music and performance that is reverent of America Jazz revolutionist, while carrying the furious passion of the Chicago Blues explosion, Rock, Funk. You have Ponyboy Blues of bass and vocals, Jessica "Starshine" Lake on lead vocals, Arron Gibian on drums, and Ben Young on guitar.

Ponyboy Blues is an east coast multi-instrumental artist musician, fire performer, and music educator. Coming from a self educated background focused on teaching music, a philosophy of songwriting, and high energy living, Ponyboy Blues is known for bringing a strong positive energy to the classroom and the stage. Ponyboy Blues has become characterized for his creativity, the ability to develop connections with artists as well as students, and dedication to personal growth with communal growth in several education and artists groups. Being a high energy, versatile, and a well rounded multi-instrumentalist, Ponyboy has come to tour as a core member of several bands in Maryland, Pennsylvania, DC, Delaware, Virginia and West Virginia. As main songwriter of the project Rarely Mellow Blues, he develops the songs using the guitar and his voice to later deliver them on the bass with the rest of the band. Ponyboy Blues also plays guitar and bass for the Pam Parker Band out of California.

Jessica "Starshine" Lake is a power house on lead and back up vocals. , Aaron Gibian (Elikeh Afropop) is on the drums holding it tight, Benjammin' Young(UME, Buddhafly) is a jazz lunatic and virtuoso on guitar.
With each member in the band having strong and specific experiences We treat our stage like it is our play ground and your ears like are our canvases.
