Born on September 21, 1977, in the community of Gregory Park, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Duaine Bowen has become one of Jamaica's revolutionary artists. He is singer, songwriter, deejay, and producer. Well-known by his stage name Ras Ghandi, he has been writing and performing since the age of twelve and cut his first recording at the age of sixteen. His hit songs "Ital Stew" and "No More Bloodshed" established him as an artist with a promising future.

"I grew up with music. My dad was a singer and I used to watch him sing. I was also inspired by artists like Lieutenant Stitchie, Papa San, Johnny P, and Dignitary Stylish. Music means everything to me. I can't picture my life without it, whether I'm singing it or listening to it."

With his music and lyrics, his name grew in and around Jamaica, as well as across the world stage establishing him as a positive role model to many. His music reflects Jamaica's history, culture, and society with messages of hope and faith in the human spirit. Ras Ghandi describes his music as "uplifting and educating" and says, "I want people to be inspired by my utterances of truth. My words. My melodies."

Over the years, Ras Ghandi has also written hits for other artists. He penned the songs "King A Talk" for King Yellowman and "World Gone Crazy" for Bounty Killa. He also has written songs for Johnny P (Don Fuh We), Anthony B (Temper), Ninjaman (Nevah Bruk A War), Spice, D'Angel, Mr. Perfect, Deva Brat, Derrick Parker, Assailant, and many others.

Currently, Ras Ghandi is hard at work creating new hit songs and has plans to return to stage internationally. "Music is my life and it is my voice. And I have a lot of things to say."
