Bio

*Singer, Songwriter, Entertainer*

Developing her vocal abilities since the age of two, Rasheeda Wallace
is now considered one of the most gifted and talented rising singers
and songwriters of our time. Dubbed, "The Queen of Street Soul", her
heartfelt lyrics, vocals and arrangements weave their way through your
soul and leave you with an uplifting sense of self empowerment. Like
the greats before her, Rasheeda has honed and mastered the ability to
tap into the collective consciousness, and deliver her message through
her music. For all those who need to be healed, her music is food for
the soul.

Rasheeda draws the majority of her vocal tenacity from her mother,
who was an aspiring singer from the Bronx, NY. This inspirational
figure not only had a featured performance at The Cotton Club, but also
performed in Vegas as well. Rasheeda remembers her mother singing her
to sleep, and then singing to her when she woke up in the morning. In
addition, Rasheeda's mother always had the music of industry legends
such as The Pointer Sisters, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Al Green and
Anita Baker playing throughout the Wallace household. Naturally,
Rasheeda grabbed her mother’s rehearsal mic, and stood in her Bronx
apartment singing with them all.

This proud heritage guided Rasheeda to the world renowned Apollo
Theater, where she performed before the not always easy to please
audience, captivating and bringing them to their feet three times in a
row with standing ovations. Rasheeda has also performed on FOX 5's Good
Day New York, where she was called the next Janice Joplin.

As a result of these appearances, Rasheeda has earned the respect
of the music industry’s finest. Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Crystal
Waters, Rachelle Flemming of First Choice, DJ. Premier, Kymani Marley
and Andrew Tosh have all sought Rasheeda out to perform with and for
them, as well as write and arrange their music. Radio Personalities
from Ed Lover to Dr. Bob Lee, and Lenny Green of major radio stations
in New York City have long supported and promoted Rasheeda featuring
her at their many events.

Working through the pain of her own past, Rasheeda is an active
supporter of the Anti-Domestic Violence issue. Following her tireless
dedication and service to raising awareness and funding for Anti-
Domestic Violence Campaigns, she received a Proclamation from the City
of New York, and then Lieutenant Governor-David Patterson.

Often compared to Adele and Mary J. Blige, and with a continuously
growing diverse fan base of her own, it is inevitable that Rasheeda
will become a household name.
