Bio

Rashell started singing at a very young age. Learning melody's from gospel songs. She started singing live to simple songs with easy melodys in a small Baptist church. She moved frequently through the United States because her father served our country. Rashell never had a place called home. Every move was short lived, not allowing her to interact like normal children. She was tiny and shy, but learned how to express her emotions through her music. She was inspired to share her gift with the world after her first solo performance at the Tulsa Summer Church Camp. Rashell was inspired by some of our most legendary recording artist such as: Teena Marie, Denise Williams, Mariah Carey, Rachelle Ferrell, and Mary J. Blige and many more. She said, “I remember the first time I heard the song “Fire and Desire”. I was in my room with a small hand held radio and I said wow, who is that? I have got to learn how to sing beautiful like her! Then I heard Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love” and I was amazed. I remember thinking I can’t believe that I had never tried to use my whistle register into my songs. Mariah & Denise opened many doors for creativity. I am thankful for their inspiration and blessing the world with all their talents. I learned all my vocal control and whistle register by ear. All I really had to do is listen to the music and let my soul come out in the notes. I never took lessons or had a vocal couch. I just listened to the notes on replay until I was on pitch and in key. I loved the way I felt after singing. I simply fell in love with singing. Spending every waking moment learning everything I could about preforming and vocal expression”. By the time Rashell reached preteen she begun making headlines, when she impressed casting director Matt Casella at the age of fourteen with only her personality and a big smile. She was one of thousands that had made the cut to become a Mouseketeer on the next phase of the Mickey Mouse club. She headlined in the San Mateo Times for her talent at the auditions and having such a great beautiful voice and a loveable personality.

Rashell had to overcome many challenges to begin her career. Little did Rashells Parents know their daughter had been working towards a professional singing-song writer career. She spent time singing and learning by books and ear in her room before and after school day after day. The chance of a lifetime came true at age fifteen as she shared the stage with the legendary Mr. Charlie Daniels who was impressed with her spunk and loving personality invited her to hit the road for exposure, but her parents didn’t think she was ready for the world just yet, so Mr. Daniels told Rashell she was always welcome to share the stage with him any time. Mr. Daniels said Rashell had a very bright career awaiting her in the music business as he left out on his bus and headed to the next city. Unfortunately everything came to an abrupt halt before her sixteenth birthday. Rashell faced life changing decisions as a teenager, forcing her dreams to be placed on hold. She became a young mother age the young age of sixteen years old. She struggled during the same time with a family hardship. With so much stress push on her life she turned again to her Spiritual inspirations and beliefs for strength and guidance. Surpassing all the down falls and exceeding all her peer’s expectations.

Rashell relocating back to her state of dreams California. She traveled across country from Ft. Smith Arkansas to California in 1996 before she was eighteen and with her new baby girl. Rashell had many challenges ahead of herself and her newborn daughter. She spent a few nights homeless and learned to respect those in the same life situation. She would learn many new way to cope and handle her life while always staying optimistic about her struggles. She said "My Spiritual Beliefs” gave me the strength to thrive. My Family helps keep me focused on what is important. I am proud of every tear I ever cried, the pain I lived through molded me into a stronger women. I always insist on learning everything the hard way." Rashell refuses to let anyone stop her from being the person she is a Mother to a big family, a wife, activist and musical entrepreneur. She understands what it is like to have nothing so she always remains humble and open minded. Rashell believes that life can be changed when someone is listening. So, she decided to take all her emotions and life experiences and put them on paper.
