Biography

Rashida Jolley is currently on a world tour with International Pop Mega Star LADY GAGA. Rashida is a unique and truly gifted artist; she is of the very few harpists and vocalists in the country.

Jolley is poised to take the music industry by storm with a sound that is truly innovative and a soulful voice that stirs a crowd. She fuses various elements of soul, classical, pop and hip hop music together to create a melodic and creative ground-breaking style that is all her own. Jolley covers a plethora of songs from artists such as Stevie Wonder and Luther Vandross to classical musicians such as Mozart and Beethoven.

From childhood, people could see that Rashida was always musically inclined. She began singing lead in her church choir at age 7 and studying the harp at the DC Youth Orchestra at age 10. It was her mother’s idea to combine her vocal stylings with the harp. It was then Rashida found her niche. Since then she began writing songs on the harp and creating her own sound. What sets Rashida Jolley apart from other entertainers is that she blends classical, hip-hop and R&B music together while singing and playing the harp. Her powerful yet melodious voice is a fusion of Alicia Keys, Lauren Hill and Celine Dion.

Her father, the late Noble Jolley Sr., was a renowned jazz guitarist and earned Howard University’s very first degree in Jazz Studies. He mentored Rashida and her six siblings in music. Today, Rashida performs in a band with two of her brothers Nathan and Noble Jolley, Jr.

In addition to her career as a professional singer and harpist, Rashida also has a dual career as a motivational speaker to young people. She travels across the country inspiring youth to follow their dreams no matter what the odds. As well, Rashida has represented the District of Columbia in the Miss America Pageant. In 2009, she appeared on NBC’s hit show “America’s Got Talent” where she quickly became a fan favorite, receiving standing ovations for every performance. Rashida has teamed up with the prestigious Priscilla Clarke and Associates Entertainment and Public Relations firm.
