Bio

One cannot help but go through life with dreams of one day becoming successful. Its those who possess the determination to turn dreams into realities that are bound for greatness. Ras is one of the few that began his destiny at an early age, and continued to devote his life to fulfilling his dream; for his passion and love for music.

Born in Sacramento, CA in 1986, Nicholas Furlong, or Ras, was immediately brought into a musical family. His mother dabbled in musical arts, and his father had made a career of working in the industry. He too, found himself dreaming of a musical career at an early age. Ras started out like many, singing along to his favorite songs with a karaoke machine. But by elementary school, the young entertainer began writing his own music. He seemed to find his inspiration by following the music of a wide variety of artists from Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, and Jay-Z to The Temptations, Rod Stewart, and Billy Joel.

As a child, Ras had traveled to many different places with his family, witnessing entertainment through the eyes of the entertainer. He would spend hours in his room practicing and performing his talents. Finally, at 16, Ras decided to start on his first project. He wrote and engineered his entire first batch of songs. He released a remake of Met Her In Miami, locally, which received large radio play in the Northern Nevada area. Request lines instantly lit up for Ras' summer anthem putting him at Number 1 on radio countdowns above artists such as The Young Gunz, Lil Jon, Joe Budden, Busta Rhymes, Ying Yang Twins, Fabolous, and many more.

The hype Ras was receiving caught the attention of well-known Basement Beats producer, Wyshmaster. Ras and Wysh then created the exclusive track, Ballin Outta Control for the multi-platinum selling video game, NBA Ballers. An artist who ranked number one for downloads according to Mp3.com and who also appeared on Billboard.com for over three months, began putting a great deal of focus into the music of his life. Ras had created a name for himself, giving him the opportunity to perform and/or appear with major recording artists such as R. Kelly, Marques Houston, Ying Yang Twins, Petey Pablo, Lil Flip, Cassidy, J-Kwon, T-Pain, Brandy, Kurupt, Cuban Link, Marc McGrath, and many more.

Now, 20 years old, Raskal is working with producer, Rockwise, and singer, song writer, and producer, TyJilla, of Thee Officials, writing, arranging, and composing songs for major recording artists. Raskal is also working on his debut release with his record company, WC Records, which he feels is going to be the most advanced work he's completed thus far.

The hard working rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer, continues to provide endless amounts of amazing music for the world to hear. When asked what Ras has to offer his fans he simply replies, "To me, my music is a way of life. It's an expression or inspiration I have in common with someone else. Whether its about the struggles of life or a night out at a club, having a good time or relationships, people can generally relate to me, because I give them a reason to. I give them me, from your everyday teenagers perspective."
