Ras is a unique southern rap artist. Early in his career he study alot of East and West coast legends in the rap game. Artist such as Run-DMC, Slick Rick, Scarface, Dr. Dre, and Ice Cube played major roles in Ras's foundation. His first indenpent LP "Like A Grown A$#@ Man" charted over Tupac's "Thuglife" and Master P's "Bout it Bout it" in the southwest region for the first four weeks.
Throughout the growth in Ras's career he has performed in venues all over the country, and served as a national recording artist signed to EMI through a independent record label base out of Austin, Texas. Upon completion of his contract, Ras started his own independent record label, Javo Records.
Today Ras still acts as CEO over his founded company where he continues to create chart topping music. Throughout his career has been nominated for various awards, including the Sammy Davis Jr. Award (Best Rap Song) and an Dove Award (Best Rap Album).
Ras has shared stages with platinum artist such as 8-Ball and M.J.G, Master P, Mystikal, and Three 6 Mafia.
