Bio

Ras Nii - born Nii Anue, May, 1982 in Accra, Ghana began his musical career with his debut at a school performance at the age of 13. Influenced by legendary artists Lucky Dube, Bob Marley, and Tony Rebel, and powered with the spirit of Jah, he began moving classmates and instructors with stirring lyrics and undeniable musical passion.

Joining “Seekjahmore” (pronunced as sycamore) - a local band - upon completion of his studies, Ras Nii’s performances spread into the localities in the Cape Coast and Accra regions of Ghana. Opening for popular reggae artists, Ras Nii’s recognition continued to grow among the local population until an Earth-shaking performance at the opening of a local festival in Cape Coast, Ghana solidified his musical career.

Ras Nii relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2007 to begin the development of his first album. The first single “African Skies” is an example of the "Roots Life" musical genre - a Ghanaian blend of classical reggae beats with an infusion of traditional African rhythms and the impactful themes of love, unity and the need for youth empowerment for African liberation and development. A fervent Rastafarian, Ras Nii’s music is dedicated to the development of Africa and the empowerment of African People world-wide.
