Bio

The band Rats from the Bay (a.k.a RFB) was formed the winter of 2003 by William Houck and Gary Limoge in the capital of Harrisburg, PA. After gaining some local attention with songs like “Spiderman” and “2 Kats in a Lexus” the group recorded its first 3 song demo and expanded into the neighboring cities. After 8 months of steady exposure the group disbanded due to creative differences and internal struggles. Six years later the co-creators of RFB re-united in strings and rose from the waters in the summer of 2010.
RFB creates melodic expressions as a relief to the angst of the daily conundrum. The lyrics are inspired by the hypocrisy of this global collective and our struggle to lift the weights placed upon us by the upper class. As our governments expand they spread their influence and keep the richest royalty under their umbrella. The mission of the RFB is to express the sanctity of human rights and the importance of holding strong in the waves to withstand the erosion. In the words of Dexter Holland singer of The Offspring “We are sick of not living to stay alive.”
With metaphors a plenty RFB’s collaboration is a direct reflection of their musical roots which range from early grunge, punk, Hip-Hop, pop-rock, to metal. The idea is that all forms can be blended into a continuous spectrum of harmonious flow, which in turn reflects our outlook on life. Just as Bruce Lee studied all forms of Martial arts and Psychology to create his style of Jeet Kune Do, RFB blends its sounds to create new life.
