Bands Rock Mercy! - The Tennessean

"Road to Bonnaroo 2012 at Mercy Lounge: Round Three, 4/16/12"

Nope. The next four bands pretty much blurred together. Ravello stuck out, mainly for being the most bombastic. These guys didn't have their sights set just on playing Bonnaroo ... they were gunning for a slot on the main stage, baby. This very-well-equipped quartet struck us as a throwback to the Movement Nashville days — what AutoVaughn would have sounded like if they had toted around 36-inch pedalboards and drug huge, rack-mounted amp heads and effects processors. Imagine kids with Belmont chops playing garden-variety modern arena rock and you get the picture. We spotted a clutch of smokin' hot blondes in designer dresses carrying huge Prada bags right in front of the stage as Ravello played. They were earnestly swaying in between sips of vodka tonics. So there ya go. - Nashville Scene

In a sea of white noise and cookie-cutter popular music, it is refreshing to know that the band Ravello strives to make music for reasons other than a paycheck and fame. Brothers and St. Louis natives Justin (Vocals/Guitar) and Taylor DeRosa (Drums, Keys) formed Ravello in 2009 in Nashville, TN. The DeRosas had one goal in mind: to marry the honesty, attitudes, and nostalgic nature of their tenured influences with their own brand of modern rock. In 2010, Ravello began recording their first effort Asperatus EP. During these sessions Taylor Craft (Bass) joined the duo and added his flare to the sound of the band. The first installment of the Ravello catalog brought forth forward motion and jump started their career in Music City. The 2011 addition of Justin's childhood friend Chris Plank (Guitar) further shaped Ravello and molded the sound into what has been created through their forthcoming, full length LP.

"We are a team now. All of us with unique musical influences, beliefs, and stories to tell while all reaching for the same goals: to be honest to our listeners and ourselves and to take people to a different place even if just for a moment. People who knew our music before are definitely going to hear the difference" (Justin). Ravello continues to gain steam through the completion of their first full length LP recorded at Big Light Studio with producer Thomas Doeve and engineer Joshua Niles and over 30 performances across the U.S. all just four months into 2012 . As summer and festival season commence, be on the look out for singles, videos, and information surrounding the new LP as well as the chance to experience Ravello in a town near you.
