Songwriter

Biography

Rawe wrote his first song in September 2009 and this song 'Forgotten In your Arms' became a semi-finalist in the Blackbird Song Contest. Rawe stated, "I was really pleased with that result, especially as all the eventual finalists were acoustic type songs which had a professional demo. I had still a lot to learn at that point and still do, but it was great for the basics of my first song to gain some recognition".

As Rawe keeps writing he continues to learn about arranging, writing, producing and demoing. "I've learned so much about songwriting since last summer when I realised I could actually write and produce a home song demo. I've wriiten lyrics previously but didn't think I could write a full song, but I worked hard and persevered, learning about songwriting and song creation methods, equipment and software. Learning about and actually producing home demos has been a real learning curve and with time you get better and better at these things. I find the songwriting itself comes naturally but that is only half the process when you're working on your own."

Rawe's work and natural talent have produced songs that he feels artists would like to work with. He writes in all genres, from ballads to dance to pop to blues. He also produces dance mixes and is presently working on several additional projects which are on track to be completed soon.

On his website http://rawediamond.com please go to the 'SONGS' section of the site to listen to songs written by Rawe Diamond. The 'LYRICS' section has additional lyrics not yet put to a medolic composition. In the future Rawe would like to collaborate with other musicians/lyricists/producers with further projects - "I write lyrics which aren't always put to music as this can be the nature of songwriting for me. Sometimes I start with arrangement, sometimes melodies or lyrics but a song can dictate the content to me so I can go off in a completely different direction than was originally planned. I would like to work with others to explore all avenues of writing a song".

Rawe's ultimate ambition is to get his songs published. If any artists or publishers would like to contact Rawe, please go to the 'Contact Me' section of his website for details.

Rawe would really appreciate it if anyone who listens to songs on his site would give him feedback in the 'Guestbook' section of the site. There is also a mailing list to join for further updates of new songs posted and he has asked anyone who would like to contact him to go to the 'Contact Me' section for details. Lyrics

Hey!

Written By: Rawe Diamond

[Verse 1]
Hey, how are you today?
Missing you
I hope that you’re ok

I, am not quite so high
Don’t know why
I couldn’t say goodbye

[Chorus]
Hey, hey what can I say?
Not doing so fine
Not doing so fine
I didn’t mean to
Make you feel that way
Not for the first time
Not for the first time

Hey, hey I’m so sorry
I was so unkind
I was so unkind
Was no excuse to
Treat you so badly
Not for the first time
Not doing so fine
I was so unkind
Not for the first time

[Verse 2]

Hey, it wasn’t healthy
To mess you up and
Finish you again

Oh, I didn’t know
That you would find it
Easy to let go

[Chorus]
Hey, hey what can I say?
Not doing so fine
Not doing so fine
I didn’t mean to
Make you feel that way
Not for the first time
Not for the first time

Hey, hey I’m so sorry
I was so unkind
I was so unkind
Was no excuse to
Treat you so badly
Not for the first time
Not doing so fine
I was so unkind
Not for the first time

[Bridge]
Hey hey hey hey hey
All those times I had to play
Those games
Those games
Those games
Those silly games

Hey hey hey hey hey
All those times frustrated
With pain
With pain
With pain
With jealous pain

Hey, hey what can I say?
Not doing so fine
Not doing so fine
I didn’t mean to
Make you feel that way
Not for the first time
Not for the first time

Hey, hey I’m so sorry
I was so unkind
I was so unkind
Was no excuse to
Treat you so badly
Not for the first time
Not doing so fine
I was so unkind
Not for the first time

[Verse 3]
Hey, it’s too late to say
I’m sorry for
Making us history

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
I’m sorry for
Ending it that way

Flickering Shadows

Written By: Rawe Diamond

[Chorus]
Flickering shadows
Given life by light
We’re flickering shadows
Taken in by the night
We’re flickering shadows
What happens to us in the dark?
Flickering shadows
We’re just trying to make our mark
Our mark
Our mark
We’re just trying to make our mark

[Verse 1]
We’re all the same you see
Our time is meant to be
Life can be gift or curse
Brings out the best or worst

But if we could see
Anytime we could be gone
And if we could see
Our lives just won’t run on

And you know that respect
Should be branded in our minds
And you know that tomorrow
We don’t know what we will find

[Chorus]
Flickering shadows
Given life by light
We’re flickering shadows
Taken in by the night
We’re flickering shadows
What happens to us in the dark?
Flickering shadows
We’re just trying to make our mark
Our mark
Our mark
We’re just trying to make our mark

[Verse 2]
We’re all the same you see
We’re born from ecstasy
It’s life that makes us cruel
It feeds our egos the fuel

But if we could see
That we’re all the same
And if we could see
There’s no need for blame

And you know that the light
Should never die in our eyes
And you know that in darkness
We don’t know truth or lies

[Chorus]
Flickering shadows
Given life by light
We’re flickering shadows
Taken in by the night
We’re flickering shadows
What happens to us in the dark?
Flickering shadows
We’re just trying to make our mark
Our mark
Our mark
We’re just trying to make our mark
