Raw G

It’s the bottom of the ninth, bases are loaded and here’s the “pitch”…In collaboration with his long time producer Hue-man (Sema Essien), Raw-G (Abe McCauley) debuts with a “Grand Slam”. A native of the infamously drug-ridden culture of Baltimore City, Maryland, but it would be Raw G’s current residence in East Tennessee that would be the catalyst for a burgeoning movement called Top Blow, Inc. Growing up in an environment set against a backdrop more militant than pacifist, Raw- G found his pace and place on the microphone. Seizing the opportunity to express himself to the fullest he began to strategically map out his path to success, by writing songs that touched on a different kind of truth, one far more specific. The embracing and expression of personal struggles as a means to combat the external forces designed to trap and ensnare. This propelled Raw-G to continue to pursue his music career as he saw this as a means to an end, an end he believes will ultimately place him in a position to do even greater works for those whose lives mimic his own.
“I never walk outside without a plan, because if I do then I am going to be a part of somebody else’s plan”, says Raw-G emphatically, who prides himself on walking the road less traveled. “What I do musically is novel because it’s my life experiences from my perspective and no one else can give an account of my experiences better than me”. Raw G stands firm on his belief about the significant impact that hip-hop has on the global community. He makes no distinction between today’s legends and yesterday’s pioneers, but believes that all are from the same cloth, just different faces and places. But make no mistake about it, Raw-G gives it to you uncut and with authority. Co-Founder and President of his own label, Top Blow Records, it certainly appears to be that Raw-G is here to stay and there is nothing that anyone can do to stop the General.
