Rawr Vanity...
Brisbane pop/rock band Rawr Vanity is an experience...
When the four piece, stepped onto the scene just shy of a two years ago they never thought that life could be such an amazing ride in such a short time.
Far from ordinary, the group features a duo of male and female lead vocals accompanied by another male backing vocal (which leads to extraordinary three-part harmonies), heavy guitars, thick bass and one very driven killer beat.
Well make your heart beat with ours.
After only 5 months of playing as a garage band they were picked up by manager Cass Love of Cass Love Music Management and were introduced very quickly to the local scene. They worked hard, rehearsed hours upon hours and were dedicated to becoming the type of musicians theyd always admired. The months passed so fast.
After having played over 40 shows around Brisbane in 2010 alone, the band has learnt in a short time just how to put on a show and how to be a cut above the rest. This is easy to see at a Rawr Vanity live show.
The year rolled from 2010 to 2011.
The minute the clocked ticked over into 2011 it was all guns blazing. Full throttle. Here we go. The band had just played their first show back at a club in Brunswick Street when they were picked up by Julian Origliasso, Manager and Brother of Brisbane, now worldwide, act The Veronicas. After a meeting and much discussion, it was put forth that Rawr Vanity would be recording with Veronicas Guitarist and Producer Jungle George.
This was an amazing experience that well never forget.
However, the band had been planning to release a CD for a while and had already booked in with Brisbane pop producer Stuart Stuart of Chartsong to start recording their first EP on the day the world celebrates love, February 14. By the end of the month they had cut their first EP called Hold Your Breath.
Hold Your Breath featured 4 tracks written solely by the members of Rawr Vanity including their debut single Strangers which have positioned them 6th on reverbnations local pop chart. Since Officially releasing the CD, locally on April 9th and nationally on April 15th, the band have sold just over 200 copies of the record and have received much praise from the general public for dedicating the artwork of the actual disc to all those affected by the floods in Queensland.
Were more than just a band, were a family.
Having just come first place in their heat at Emergenza and currently planning a coastal tour to follow the release of their EP, Rawr Vanity is looking to outdo themselves this year and hit over drive.
We want to find a little bit more of ourselves in you. Experience
