Discography

1. First recordings were with Prince Paul from NYC and was in a techno-dance form. Called Acoustech 1993

2. LOM (Four Hands Two Voices) was mostly folk but with a strong driving percussive sound as well. With the use of mouth horns, human beat boxing and vocal noises we had many layers. (2002)

3. Butterfly Soul. Strictly acoustic instruments were used to produce an electronic effect. Heavily influenced by the network of the Spongle fellows.(2006)

4. The Latter Part of Yesterday. Bluesy, Folk album with a very dark edge. Based on the life and times of a fictional character loathing around in NYC's lower east side(2007)

5. Create Shape. "Create Shape", is by far the hardest to describe. Take Ray's acoustic guitar, and Jon's upright bass and there vocals, throw in lots of snaps, tapping, and knocks and throw out the ordinary. No special tricks here, agressive folk, funk and jazz combined to try and explain where these two personalities meet in the universe.

Bio

With the use of Jedi mind tricks and inaudible contradictions, Ray Bryant's parents raised him believing that he did not fit into the ordinary world. They were right, his personality needed the space of the Universe not the confines of a suburban household. He started studying classical guitar with a rock guru at the age of 6, in NY, NY. Met Rich Rabatin at Three Village music in Setauket, NY in 1985, and quickly grew a strong relationship as teacher and student. Transposing hundreds of songs by ear, Ray finally heard the music. His aggressive rhythmic , harmonic and melodic techniques and ideas came from studying not only musicians of different disciplines but also through experimentation. While working and collaborating with Alex Theoret (Turtle Tone Studio, NYC) Ray quickly developed a style of his own using his guitar as a percussion instrument and feeding off of his alter-ego to create atmospheric ambiance, layers and textures. Ray believes the music wrote him. He now resides in Stamford, CT with his personality still wandering somewhere between Madagascar and the Lower East Side of NYC. Jon Berretta has studied jazz and classical theory extensively. His focus and shear enthusiasm for creativity and music comes across through every note he plays. He does not think outside the box, to Jon there is no box.
