With a large dose of infectious punk sprinkled with tasty garage pop misgivings,Raygun Massacre delivers the goods with such sing along riff nuggets as Your Mommy is a Commie, (A historical piece about long distance love), Chicken of the Sea (who doesn't like tuna?) and Invasion of the Saucer Men (autobiographical?).These songs can be heard on the band's demo at : www.myspace.com/raygunmassacre
Its obvious this gang cut their musical teeth on bands like the Ramones, Dead Kennedys and even Billy Joe & Co (a.k.a. Greenday). All that's missing is the classic "1-2-3-4!!!" intros so affectionately delivered by a mod haired bass player (R.I.P. DeeDee).
Raygun Massacre is made up of Cincy music veterans Rick "Fat Astronaut" Wichman (Super 77,Moped Mafia) on bass /vocals, Bill "The Cap'n" Bundy (The Myths) on guitars/vocals, Adam 'No use for a last name" (The Long Goodnight) on drums and lady in waiting ,Shawna James (The Slacks)on guitars/vocals .They make a point not to take themselves too seriously.Its a welcome change for some of the more artsy prog rock on the scene. I only wish The Poison Room (Cincy's very own CBGB's) was still around...sigh.
