Ray Moore

Ray Moore

Irish, traditional, contemporary and songs of the sea. Folk singer/songwriter from Co Antrim, N.Ireland, strong powerful voice, guitar player and polished performer.

Originally from N.Ireland. Influenced in the early days by Planxty, Andy Irvine, Paul Brady, Christy Moore and traditional Irish accoustic folk music.
Influences in later days from the great American singer songwriters like James Taylor, John Prine, Don Mclean and the great maritime songs of the Canadian Stan Rogers.
This mix of influences has carved his songs and performances to a nice laid back blend of traditional, accoustic, thought provoking songs.
He likes to have his audience involved in his live performances as much as possible.

4 albumns released to date. The latest 'And Then the Birds in Spring Again' has been on sale since
May 2008. A nice mix of traditional and contemporary folk songs, as well as a few of his own. It is so far getting good reviews and feedback and has been air played on Tommy Sands' Ulster radio programme.

Set List

I can do anything from 30 mins to 3 hour sets (with 2x20min breaks) I am very geared to the audience and can read the atmosphere very well, planning my breaks and song choice to suit.
In fact, I don't normally write down a set play list, instead picking songs from my head to suit the moment, it works really well!
My normal choice is from my own songs, through to James Taylor, Don Mclean, John Prine, Van Morrison and Stan Rogers (many)
