Bio

Razrez is a five-piece rock-n-roll band from Seattle that combines the darker side of psychedelic rock with the art of glam and the attitude of punk with the musicality of classic rock. Forging a new sound from the influence of bands like Deep Purple, The Sweet, and The Music Machine, Razrez creates a potent mix of anthemic, organ-heavy, fist-pounding rock music.

Razrez is always refining their stage presence and image, which they consider to be as important as the music itself. In live performance, they are both serious and flamboyant, using theatrics and antics to feed the intensity of their grandiose sound (think Bowie, The Stooges, or New York Dolls).

Fleeing his home country of Turkey for Seattle, front-man Aykut Ozen teamed up with bass player Chris Duryee to form Razrez in 2005. After working out the concept, they found organista Geoffrey Christopher, drummer Elie Goral and guitarist Toby Sutton to complete the sound and look.

The band was off to a roaring start, winning Seattle's Stranger Big Shot award; playing the Capitol Hill Block Party, End Fest, and Bumbershoot festivals; touring the west coast with Matador Records' Pretty Girls Make Graves; and releasing their Dirty Beat EP recorded by producer Ryan Hadlock. After this initial burst of success, Razrez hit the studio to focus on recording their now complete, full-length debut album, to be released in summer, 2008.
