Bio
Born as Markiest Ja-san McCoy in Miami, Florida June 9,1981. He was raised in Palatka until the age of 13. Markiest and his family then moved to Orange Park, Fl where he attended Orange Park High School as well as some college.
Markiest grew up with two brothers and one sister; his mother Sandra, father James, and grandmother. While singing at Grace and Truth Holiness Church in Palatka, Florida, he became part of his school choir. Markiest was inspired to become a singer by listening to artist such as Jodeci, Jagged Edge, Silk, Boys II Men, and R Kelly. He grew up loving the sound of Rhythm and Blues. Markiest then knew he would be the R&B Sanga.
GQ was his former name with the group, “Quiet Storm”. Quiet Storm appeared in many cities while on tour. They have shared the stage with groups such as Nelly and Snoop. While singing with the group Quiet Storm he developed his leadership skills, so after two enjoyable years with Quiet Storm R&B decided to pursue a solo career.
R&B Sanga, as a solo artist has opened for artist such as T.I and Lil’ Wayne. His talent doesn't stop with just singing. He is also a very talented producer and writer as well. With his slick lyrics and smooth melody, music defines who he is and who he will become, one of the greatest singers in the music industry today.
