"Red Circle Underground – Rockin’ LA’s Kibitz Room Tonight!"

Red Circle Underground (or RCU, as my writers cramp will have me refer to them) are LA natives with a truly diverse style that is definitely alternative, with a little bluesy / americana undercurrent that is just enough to give these spatially crafted songs an inherent sexiness...Citing influences from as varied as the wine collection at BevMo!, (STP to Johnny Cash, The Allman Bros. to Sly and the Family Stone, none of whom they sound like) is a mark of the musical maturity of this sextet. This is a big band, with a big, layered sound.

"Red Circle Underground: Skinny's Lounge"

This group delivers an impressive mix of blues and soul combined with organic and progressive rock. Solid songwriting with catchy southern rock hooks are all successfully encompassed within a colorful tableau of sounds, traditional yet with an avant-garde approach. - Music Connection (Magazine)

"Red Circle Underground at Viper, SSMF"

The first thing that stands out as Red Circle Underground starts their set, is how many instruments they have on stage. Rolling six members deep, they are not your typical band. With two or three vocalists per song, three guitars, a drum kit, bongos, harmonica, tambourine and a keyboard, everyone is busy on stage. Their style is a mixture of several different genres, ranging from alternative rock, to blues. Their songs are fast paced, giving the audience a feel good, toe tapping rock show.
All the members of RCU are extremely multi-talented, not only sticking to one instrument but constantly switching back and forth. Ali, the female vocalist, rocks on the guitar while singing, later switching off to bang on the bongos. With so much going on onstage, it would be easy for the sounds to clash, but everything harmonizes amazingly well together. RCU rocks beyond their years, with every song bringing a new sound with different instruments being used.
“Ode to Jim” was my favorite song in their set. Dylan Grey starts out the song heavy on the harmonica, leading into a sexy duet with Ali and Jonah. In no way is this a slow sappy love song. Kevin sets a quick pace with the drums, and Ali’s voice leaves you coming back for more. - LP33.tv (Blog)

Bio

Red Circle Underground is comprised of brothers Jonah & Dylan Grey, Britton Sparkman, Jon Stipp, Nikki Kilker, & Dylan Halacy.

Together, this seven piece rock group have created a unique sound incorporating powerful vocal performances, rockin' guitar riffs, twangy harmonica and perfectly placed key licks, as well as a Bass/Drum section that packs a punch. From Sparkman's Birmingham, Alabama roots..., to the New England vibe of the Grey brothers, to the Los Angeles urban jungle they now call home, Red Circle Underground has created an explosive contemporary sound. The music offers the comfort and familiarity of southern 70's rock jams, but entangles you in the raw emotion that is reminiscent of early 90's alternative rock.
