Reader's Wives

Reader's Wives

Pleasantly schizophrenic rock & roll (like the Velvet Underground) mixes with unimposing electronica (like Yo La Tengo) & unconventional lyrics (like Morrissey). Live, Readers Wives are all about agreeable melodies, inventive instrumentation & a giddy focus on the weird, wonderful & life affirming

Formed in Dublin by indie singer songwriter Niall James Holohan (the dark prince of pop) in 2006, Reader's Wives have been playing as residents of Bewley's Cafe Theatre over the last year while recording their debut album.

Since 2006, the band have also played 4 self-promoted showcases in London & New York, respectively, where they secured management on both sides of the Atlantic (Liquid, UK / Prototype Entertainment, US) & landed a digital distribution deal with the Orchard.

Reader's Wives have recently finished recording their debut album (release date tbc) & also found time to support John Cooper Clarke & Smog in Dublin & Sonic Youth at Columbia Halle, Berlin.

Currently in talks with German record companies & various labels in the Co-Operative chain, the band are rehearsing for a tour which will take in most of mainland Europe through Autumn & Winter 2007

We're looking forward to playing HWCH 2007!
