"Seb Robert - Absolute, London"

"An iron fist in a velvet glove" - Absolute Music Management

"Brent Grulke - Austin Chronicle"

Highly recommended! One To Watch! - (CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF SOUTH X SOUTH WEST FESTIVAL & MUSIC EDITOR OF THE AUSTIN CHONICLE)

"Nick Robinson - BMI"

I definitely hear a Baby Bird kind of feel about the tracks - good little melodies, rhymes and a dark humor ..really good stuff - BMI

"UTV live ON LINE"

if Niall James Holohan were a pair of shoes, he'd be a pair of velour leopardskin ankle boots with pogo power. Funky, ridiculous, sublime. When someone like Niall James Holohan is not afraid to be himself, it's a very good thing. - UTV live ON LINE

"Barry Kelly - MQ"

A DUBLIN SIGNER-SONGWRITER WITH THE WIT AND LYRICAL GIFT OF OUR IRISH LITERARY GREATS.HIS PERFORMANCE IS WELL POLISHED AND PRACTISED.IT'S OBVIOUS THAT HE'S TRULY COMFORTABLE WITH HIS ROLE AS STORYTELLER, PERFORMER AND MUSICIAN AND HE REINFORCED WHY THIS HIS SECOND TRIP TO THE U.S. TO SHOWCASE GREAT SONGS THAT ARE WELL CRAFTED - MQ MAGAZINE

"Jackie Hayden - Hot Press"

Styling himself "the dark prince of pop" is some claim to have to live up to but this relentlessly uncompromising Dublin singer-songwriter is nothing if not modest. Niall's multifaceted talents and singular approach recall Pierce Turner with interesting arrangements in the style of Badly Drawn Boy.Great song titles too! - Hot Press

"Alan Corr - RTE Guide"

Fooking ace!! Refreshingly nasty, twisted, bitter, serious but most of all, funny RTE Guide - RTE Guide

"the Evening Herald"

Readers Wives kick like the bastard child of Daniel Johnston, Tom Waits and Morissey after a night on the tiles. The business! - EVENING HERALD

"Una Mulally - Event Guide"

Pleasantly schizophrenic head shaking offhand rock and roll mixes with unimposing electronica and unconventional lyrics. Readers Wives is all about hundreds of agreeable melodies, inventive instrumentation and a glad concentration on the up beat, which most of the current crop of singer songwriters seem to avoid. Raucous electronic trickery introduces many tracks before succumbing to tunes of a more traditional format. Those who know NJH know that he's very capable of producing a perfect tune that sums up the artist as one who is humorous, touching and always intriguing. Nialls talent at extracting deliciously emotional noises from guitars means that the Wives sound like a 1950's scrap in Whelan's!! Although you never know what to expect from Niall James Holohan, what you do know, is that it will always be great! - EVENT GUIDE

"the Ticket"

Beautifully balanced music, seemingly springing from an often unbalanced mind, Readers Wives live shows, currently in residency in Bewleys Café Theatre, veer delightfully between wistful ballads and shakin', rattlin', rollin' tubthumpers. Theirs is a swaggering, unruly gait, obviously taken from front man Niall James Holohans natural posture and fleshed out with everything that sounds like a mini-Mingus band, blues and roots, straight up Beatle-esque pop and God knows what else ..Awesome, scary, tender, funny, lovable and foreboding, often in the space of a few minutes. One can see why Nialls been likened to Tom Waits ..conformity is a fools paradise indeed! - IRISH TIMES
