"Crowns"

Dana is to perform the role of "Velma" in the off Broadway play "Crown"at The Open Stage, Harrisburg.

Crowns is a moving and celebratory musical play in which hats become a springboard for an exploration of black history and identity as seen through the eyes of a young black woman who has come down South to stay with her aunt after her brother is killed in Brooklyn. Hats are everywhere, in exquisite variety, and the characters use the hats to tell tales concerning everything from the etiquette of hats to their historical and contemporary social functioning. There is a hat for every occasion, from flirting to churchgoing to funerals to baptisms, and the tradition of hats is traced back to African rituals and slavery and forward to the New Testament and current fashion.

"Dana Fields is one of Gospel’s most dynamic soloist"

According to Kirsten Nicole Harris, local Gospel Radio Producer &
Co-host of Gospel Cavalcade Live (Cumulus Media, WTCY 1400 AM "The Touch"), “Dana Fields is one of Gospel’s most dynamic soloist, lyricist, & up & coming recording artist. She displays the grace and musical giftedness of Grammy Award winning artist, CeCe Winans, the power and poise Whitney Houston, & the vibrant, spirit-filled vocals of Aretha Franklin.” - Cumulus Media, WTCY 1400 AM

"Dana ministers the Word of God"

“Dana ministers the Word of God through song in a way that ushers the hearers into the very presence of God. She seems to have found a place in praise that God finds habitation. I highly recommend Dana for any event that wants God to show up in praise.”

Bio

A native of Western Pennsylvania, Dana Fields is a chosen vessel of God and exemplifies the life of Christ through her devotion to God, family and ministry. Born in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, she is the younger of two daughters born to Rev. Dr. William and Rev. Dr. Barbara Terry.

Actively singing since age 3, Dana grew up as part of the family quartet which traveled to various churches and events. The rich family legacy of music and ministry has been passed down to her for more than four generations.

She has been gifted by God to love the arts from singing, writing, the visual arts, acting and modeling.  She is a singer/songwriter/lyricist at heart and chooses to use her gifts and talents to glorify God. In doing so, Dana’s music ministry is power-packed with vibrant vocals and relevant lyrics that will elevate the listener to a higher realm of personal praise! Her style is a blend of Contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship, Jazz and R&B with a solid foundation of Gospel.

Some of her musical and speaking appearances include, AG-Women of Purpose Conferences, Victorious Christian Women/Excellence Conferences, The Mighty Men of Valor National Men's Conferences, Pennsylvania Baptist Convention, Southern Baptist Convention, The Gospel Heritage Foundation-Praise and Worship Conference, Messiah College and the American Music Fest. She has opened for various groups and artists such as Spirit Filled Ministries of Pittsburgh, PA, The Wilmington-Chester Mass Choir, The Gabriel Hardman Delegation, Vicki Winans and Ernest Pugh to name few. She has sung background vocals for national and international gospel recording artists Steven Hurd, Tonex, Elder William Murphy, Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin. And she was a featured National Anthem vocalist for the former Harrisburg’s Arena football team, the Stampede.

To enlargen her territories, God opened the door when she was cast for the role of Velma in the 2006 production of Regina Taylor’s Crowns at the Open Stage of Harrisburg.  Due to the production being widely and well received, Crowns returned to the Open Stage for its 2nd season in May 2007.  For two seasons, 2011 & 2012 she performed the roll of the Teacher in the CLA Musical Production “The Gospel According to Scrooge”. Then in 2013, she performed the role of Martha Pentecost, in August Wilson’s play, “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone”, Open Stage Harrisburg.

In the summer of 2008 she released her long awaited CD project “Nothing’s Impossible” which was a project that blends shades and hues of Gospel, R&B and Jazz. This project is available on ITunes, Amazon CDbaby and streams worldwide. In November 2015, Her Single Yes To Your Love was released as a preview to her upcoming Album "A Personal Experience" released September 9, 2016.

Dana is a gifted speaker and retreat facilitator and has shared her gifts of encouragement and edification at women’s conferences, retreats and workshops.

She happily resides in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with her husband DeWayne of 24 years and their two sons Dayne and Donovan.

Dana is a dynamic soloist, lyricist, praise leader, actor/model and speaker. Her vibrant vocals and her heart for people will usher you into the presence of the Lord and cause you to celebrate Jesus with her.
