Bio
The spiritual pop/rock band NOVA is ringing in a new flavor of music, call it "Pop with a Purpose" or "Conscious Rock." Their demo songs caught the ear of Dallas' award winning producer, Salim Nourallah (Old 97's,) and soon after they began their journey in the studio. After a few months of recording, NOVA wrapped up the recording sessions in January 2011. And hot off the presses, the band just recently launced the new album titled "Love Revolution" on itunes in April, which can be found at www.itunes.com/NOVA/loverevolution. The band is, in fact, currently in the studio recording their second album, due out October 2012.
Deeply rooted in their influences of bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, & Jeff Buckley, singer/songwriter Travis Webb writes with a wide-open heart, delivering contagious choruses & lyrics with the ever-present undertones of Love & Oneness. He began his music career playing keys for a short stint in the highly successful local Dallas-band South FM. South FM enjoyed much success getting regular radio rotation in Texas(KDGE) and California with the songs "Dear Claudia", "Blue & Grey," and "Killing Me." Then soon after, Travis began to follow his heart, and so began his journey as a singer/songwriter. Seeking divine guidance, he learned briefly with vocal & piano coaches Amy Seltzer(Paco Estrada, Kirk Baxley) and Julie Bonk(Norah Jones.) Travis is joined by Robin Carrington and Alex McKee on guitars. Rip Phalen plays the drums (Blake Bartley on "I Am." And multi-instrumentalist Emsy Robinson plays bass & guitar on the debut album as well. NOVA looks forward to seeing you soon on tour.
