Bio
Real Love Diplomats are a progressive rock band that manages to defy convention within the context of pop music. The group is known for their adept use of vibrant keyboard and guitar layers and passionate live performances. This is not to say that the Diplomats are strictly a synth band, such a dismissal misses the entire point of the songs crafted by this four piece. Drawing from a pool of influences, Rush, Peter Gabriel, the Cure, and the Afghan Whigs, this band creates 3-dimensional songs that draw the listener in to a world both beautiful and terrifying. The group formed in 1999 and has always stood apart from the changing musical scene and times. The Diplomats write what they find interesting and original. They released the CD, For the Good of the Many, in 2001 and the single, Ded Morotz, was put in rotation at local radio stations. They are currently recording the follow-up, tentatively titled The Unbroken Hour, which promises to be both an expansion and a departure from previous material. Produced by Brett Reighn and Mark Mason the album is filled with lush soundscapes and probing lyrics that prod the depths. The album is slated for a fall release.
