Reecy

Native Floridian, now resident of Music City USA (Nashville, TN), singer, songwriter, actress and voice over artist Sharese “Reecy” Jackson is bringing an exciting and fresh new sound to the world of music and entertainment. This talented entertainer has been singing her entire life. Beginning with her childhood church youth choir and the Parkway Middle School choir (under the direction of Donna Tolbert), Reecy has been blessing the world with the sweet melodic sound of her voice. Growing up in Miami, Florida, a metropolitan mosaic of humanity, Reecy was exposed to variety of musical genres. The development of her distinctive style is the result of a lifetime of musical influences that illuminate life and its beauty and simplicity. In high school, she, with three of her class mates, formed the group C.A.S.H. C.A.S.H. gained local recognition performing in several talent shows.

In college, at Tennessee State University, Reecy met her best friend and group mate Kimberly “Brownie” Vaughn. Together they formed the group Descendants of Reality. It was with Descendents of Reality that Reecy was able to expand her musical interests, style and flavor. Descendants of Reality released two albums, The Campaign and Reality Necessary, which received national and international recognition. They were nominated for several awards, winning the 2007 Southern Entertainment Awards’ R&B Artist of the Year. As a member of Descendants of Reality, Reecy showcased her talent in various venues across the nation working with esteemed artists like Lyle Lovett, Randy Travis, and several Grammy Award nominated producers.

As Reecy began to evolve as an artist and increase her exposure to the entertainment industry, she was bit by the acting bug. Naturally charismatic and vibrant, Reecy took to acting instantly and innately. She has acted alongside well-regarded actors and actresses such as Lisa Raye, Mos Def, and N’bushe Wright in the acclaimed film Civil Brand. She has also worked with veteran actor, producer, and director Mario Van Peebles, in the movie, Redemption Road. Additionally, Reecy has graced the stage with the Tennessee State University Summer Stock Players Guild under the direction of actor, director, and playwright Barry Scott, where Reecy wrote, co-produced, and performed the song “Othello”, based on the play Othello.

Her artistic talents both in music and film have only enhanced the depth and appeal of this multitalented entertainer. Her unique pop and soulful sound has won over her fans and artistic comrades. Reecy has opened for shared stages with soul music greats as such as Eric Roberson and Jaguar Wright, as well as performing at the Country Music Hall of Fame honoring the legendary soul crooner Ray Charles. Reecy’s goal is to make music that not only moves you with the melody but enlightens, uplifts, and motivates the spirit.
