(Mar 22, 2007)
If there's such a thing as responsible rock 'n' rollers, members of Cambridge based Realm may be just that.

Brothers Neil and Drew Leicester started performing in 2001, and won a battle-of-the-bands competition in Kitchener.

They then took a break from music and completed university studies.

Now with diplomas in hand, and the addition of bass player Grant Lauer - Neil's roommate in university - the trio has released Walking In A Shadowless Land - a 12-track CD brimming with guitar hooks and a solid foundation of rhythm.

Following the CD release, Realm will look at touring dates.

"I want to totally focus on music right now," explained Neil Leicester in an interview.

Produced by Sean Riley, along with Neil and Drew, Realm provides a big sound, considering it's only a trio.

"That's what people say about our live sound." said Leicester. "People can't believe its only three guys."

Realm performs tomorrow night at the Riverbank Mill starting at 8:30 p.m.

They will play all tracks from their CD starting at 10 p.m.

Admission is free, and CDs will be on sale.

"School of Rock"

School of Rock!

In 2001 REALM was formed. The brainchild of two Cambridge Ontario brothers Neil and Drew Leicester. Along with long time friend, Grant Lauer, Realm soon became a fan favourite as a rock/alternative band.

Realm began their career with a victory in 2001 at a Battle of the Bands in Kitchener Ontario, also competing in The Rock 95/Molson Rock Star Search and the Kee to Bala.

After getting a feel for the business the trio decided to take some time off to finish University. As soon as the youngest Brother graduated, public pressure mounted for Realm to get back together.

In 2007, Realm has been busy playing at local establishments and private functions across Ontario. The group released their first CD March 23rd “Walking in a Shadowless Land”. Already their first single “Rocking Me” is generating National attention.

Your support in helping Realm get their music out is appreciated.
