Bio

It is the heart, soul and distinctive sound that makes Rebecca Annah Arscott unique. Her “smooth like champagne”, bluesy yet solid voice is unmistakable. Her ability to combine her “old Soul” with a fresh flare is captivating in itself. Her inspirations include many of the greats such as, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Nat King Cole, Louise Armstrong, Billie Holiday, The Temptations, Tina Turner and contemporary artists, Alicia Keys, John legend, Norah Jones, as well as Christina Aguilera ,Corrine Bailey Rae, Sara Bareilles, and Sean Kingston. Her love for music has been with her since the young age of two years old, when she first started performing in front of a live audience. At four she debuted with solos and was given standing ovations before her songs were completed. She then began singing on stage before church audiences of 1500-1800 people, holding incredible composure and presence all of her own. She always felt at home on the stage and never failed to smile while captivating her audience and she learned early the joy of singing and truly loved to do it. When Rebecca performs, she knows just how to bring her audience into her world of song. “When I sing I am telling a story.” She allows the music to move her, because she believes that it comes from within. Rebecca’s love for music has turned into her drive for life. Her Latin and Caribbean heritage sparks the desire to cross into many different genres of music. She is willing to learn and do what it takes to become the most versatile musical influence she can be. “Music is more powerful than people think and it definitely can have a huge impact on people.” Rebecca is striving to become a strong and successful artist who can positively influence people around the world. With that being said, Rebecca was given the opportunity to sing at New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson‘s “Campaign for Change” rally.
America, Music in the Park and many more.
Recently, Rebecca participated in the San Juan County fair singing contest and won in the “Teen Category” this being her second year in a row winning. After winning the competition, Bret Stevens, DJ and host of the Morning show with Bret and Jen on Clear Channel Radio’s Star 102.9, requested that Rebecca join him on the Morning Show to be interviewed and given the opportunity to sing live on the radio. During the interview, Bret Stevens mentioned, “A lot of people will tell me, I want to pursue a career in music, and then I hear them sing and I think maybe that’s not the way to go. But for you I think that’s a terrific idea!” With strong local support, Rebecca is ready to take her music to another level. She is hungry to learn more to become a well rounded artist and performer and wants to do what it takes for a new and upcoming artist to not just make one but many hits and to make music her life while crossing into different genres of music. “I will not settle for music to be my dream, I want it to be my Life!!
