Bio

RAINA ROSE & REBECCA LOEBE have a lot in common. In the past 3 years, they have both transitioned from local coffee shop sensations to full-time touring musicians, each with 3 studio albums, hundreds of shows and hundreds of thousands of miles under their belts. It only took a few moments of conversation and a few bars of harmonizing together in the summer of 2008 for these two award-winning songwriters to form a powerful show-stopping, story-telling, crime-fighting folk/pop duo that has audiences from Texas to Maine hollering for more.

RAINA ROSE is a barefoot sinner/songwriter born on the day the music died. She sings americana-folk songs of long travels, fictional characters, time that plays tricks and the tricks that governments play. Starting her life in Los Angeles during the Regan era, her family soon emigrated to lovely Portland, OR where Raina cut her teeth on the notable music scene. One foot firmly planted in the NW city and the other ankle-deep in the Pacific Coast, Raina took off on tour in late 2005 and has been at it ever since. Thanks to the campfires of the Kerrville Folk Festival, Raina found the draw of the Austin music community too strong and now calls the Live Music Capital of the World her homebase. She let that southern flavor sink in and now serves a brave and heartbreaking brew of fingerpicking, flatpicking, and fresh-voiced stories. Catch this bird in flight all over the country.

It wasn't too long ago that REBECCA LOEBE was working at a recording studio as a full-time audio engineer. At night when the studio was empty, she would sneak back into work and lay down tracks for what would eventually become her debut album Hey, it's a Lonely World. When the album came out, Rebecca began touring and after a year of splitting her time between the studio and the road, the road won. She packed up her small Boston apartment, put everything she didn't need on tour into storage and began touring full time.

Since then she has performed in over 31 states of the US and also in Paris, France, sharing the stage with such performers as Angie Aparo, Ellis Paul, Emerson Hart, Sohie B Hawkins, Girlyman and Glen Phillips. She has been recently invited to perform official showcases at numerous national conferences (including NACA & Folk Alliance) and was selected as a 2009 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Award Winner.
