18 year-old Rebecca Raabis is a refreshing new voice on the music scene. The Alberta native recently released her new single “Not Over You” and is ready to take the world by storm!
Also below, check out her music video for her track “Run”! - Amanda

Do you enjoy having a song buzzing in your head? Do you still enjoy getting in your car, turning on the radio and hoping for that song to come on? Well, then you must be really old…lol
I’ve had 5 songs buzzing in my cerebral cortex for 4 weeks now! But ONE seems to be standing out. I call it the Queen Bee (BZZ). A man once told me to “Listen calmly and take a step when you hear it”.
This is how Rebecca Raabis from “Red Deer” did it. One tiny step at a time. Rebecca left her home in Red Deer Alberta, found a place in Toronto and then began looking.
She made it to the Top 3 of the Toronto Final of TGCSS but didn’t win her spot in the Nationals.
Today, I am happy to say that “COMA”, is lyrically pleasing, melodically stimulating and the hook just kicks some serious Ass!
That is why I am Picking THIS Red Deer Rabbit as a “Wild Card” for the National Final.
We’ll see you in Toronto in 2013 Rebecca!

"I want to help people who think they are stuck in life and can't make it better, to keep it moving. I want to be someone's rock and safe place when everything falls apart." ~Rebecca Raabis

This up and coming independent singer/songwriter is about to prove that dreams really can come true.

Rebecca Raabis has come a long way fast. Defying all adversity, the self taught starlet is already making major waves, catapulting from church choir to opening for bands like Marianas Trench and Down with Webster. She most recently performed in Toronto for the 16th annual Honey Jam all female showcase—all within a mere four years of picking up the guitar. Her raw talent, love of life, and stories from the heart prove the sky's the limit. - Consuelo Bernardi

Discography

I have recently released the "Rabbit EP" which includes 5 songs; Run, Take it Back, Cant Let You Go, Not Over You and Just to See Your Face. All songs were recorded at different studios in Alberta, Vancouver and Toronto.

Bio

Rebecca Raabis has come a long way fast. Defying all adversity, the self taught starlet is already making major waves, catapulting from church choir to opening for bands like Marianas Trench and Down with Webster, all within a mere 5 years of picking up the guitar. In the summer of 2011 she performed at the Toronto for the 16th annual Honey Jam all female showcase (Nelly Furtado, Jully Black). Later that year she had the privilege of writing with a handful or people including Kuba Oms (Electrolove), Laurell Barker (Can't Stop Fallin'), Davor Vulama, Kaylee Johnston and Jeff Dawson. Her raw talent, love of life, and stories from the heart prove the sky is the limit.

I have been playing for 5 years, and singing since I could. I’ve had no formal lessons or classes besides middle school band. Music has always been my outlet. No matter how bad things got, music was always there for me. It has brought me through some of the toughest times in my life and the best thing for me I believe is to share my story and my music with others. I want to inspire people to be greater than what they are given and to break past the roadblocks in their lives. I know what it’s like to survive amongst constant chaos, and I know there are many people who can relate. I want to set an example of how to try and be the best you can be despite your surroundings, fears, and flaws. One day I hope I can reach out to people all over the world.

I always loved music, but didn't really consider it as a career until Damon (Kwame) Mason came to my school talent show that I won in grade 10. After the show, he introduced himself and we became really good friends, and he became my manager. He has helped me overcome many of my fears and has inspired me to become a better musician. That was almost three years ago and now I currently live in Toronto, which is very different than living in little Red Deer, Alberta. I'm hoping to start working on a full album! Very exciting!

My main influences are Ellie Goulding, LIGHTS, Florence and the Machine, Kings of Leon, Stevie Nicks and P!nk.
