"Hope Alive Ministries"

"Rebekah McLeod's music is a gift from God straight to the heart of His people. God uses her music to apply His truth as medicine to the soul and spirit. Rebekah gives all the glory to God and offers her life as a living testimony of His grace and life-changing love." - Sue Oehmig, Director

"MorningStar Community Church"

"Rebekah is an extremely talented and gifted woman who has a heart for God and building His Kingdom. There is no doubt in my mind that if you have the opportunity to involve her in something you are doing that is Christ-centered, it will be greatly used by God to build up all who are present." - Carey Snellings, Senior Pastor

Bio

“To me, music is a blend of mystery and invitation.” – Rebekah McLeod

Rebekah McLeod is a contemporary Christian singer and songwriter hailing from Woodbridge, Virginia. Originally growing up in New Orleans, Rebekah’s music is infused with the soulful sounds of the south and the poignant grace of a classically trained pianist. She brings these elements together with such artistry to produce a wealth of well-crafted lyrics and soaring melodies, while illuminating the ageless truths of the Gospel.

Currently, Rebekah is promoting her sophomore album, Waiting, which tackles the complexities of patience, love, and endurance with an understated grace. She is feverishly writing for secondary projects and working to expand her audience. In 2009, Rebekah was announced as a Great American Song Contest Christian/Gospel Finalist for the Waiting’s “Fragile.” The same year, Rebekah was named a finalist for “Winter” in the Songwriter’s Association of Washington’s Songwriting Contest.

Before Evidence of His Love, Rebekah’s debut album, the artist won Virginia’s 2004 God-Song Contest for “When We Forgive.” The publicity allowed Rebekah to continue recording the album for its ultimate 2005 release. The album was well received with the Gospel Music Association, which requested Rebekah to perform in Nashville for the GMA’s Writer’s Night. “Never Alone,” another album favorite, demonstrates Rebekah’s classical piano skills with a unique blend of contemporary, pop, and gospel styles. The album’s title track will also be featured in an upcoming faith based film this fall.

The artist’s love for music started at a young age as her father was a drummer and her mother a singer in the local church band. Rebekah’s dreams of being a classical concert pianist developed in her grandmother’s living room, watching her play music by ear. Rebekah describes, “I begged my parents for lessons. From then on, they never had to tell me to practice. I just loved it.” Now married with her own family, Rebekah loves her life as a military wife and is devoted to her three children. Her faith in God is a constant theme in her daily activity.

To bring her testimony and music together, Rebekah leads and performs at many worship events, with highlights such as the Hylton Memorial Chapel and Dallas Convention Center for the American Gospel Music Festival. She especially enjoys leading worship for military family retreats. Rebekah explains, “The stress of military life and this extended time of war have taken their toll on families. I am so excited to be a part of giving back to the soldiers and their loved ones.”

As a singer, songwriter, storyteller, worship leader, mother, wife, and friend, Rebekah embraces her many roles and uses these experiences in her writing. Striving to be the music to her listeners’ ears, Rebekah’s music contains a fresh sound both contagious and beautiful. Stay tuned as this artist soars into new expressions that promise engaging experiences for her listeners and concert goers.
