"Mike Grau's Notes"

“Rebel Pawn- Wow this is a great band. They are very good and I apologize for always remembering them as Rebel Dwarfs…or even Crimson Dwarfs…it has nothing to do with them…somehow my brain is wired incorrectly and seems to substitute the word dwarf for pawn….my problem and I’m seeking help. But see this band…come and look at them..don’t look away..look directly into their won’t bother them..that’s one of the reasons that they put together a band to begin with. They like when people look at them..they also enjoy being stroked and scratched behind the ears like cats. They can be dangerous and they take drugs all the time, so proceed with caution. They are also liars and cheaters…they are also responsible for all that oil that spewed into the gulf. Actually the more I think about it…I don’t like this band…whatever…make up your own minds on this act.” - Michael J Grau

REBEL PAWN is a rock band known for their great songs and energetic live shows. It's members, all veterans of the Jersey Shore music scene, include: vocalist/guitarist Dan Spedaliere, drummer Steve Laanui, bassist CJ Kroyer, and producer/back-up vocalist Dan Buzy.

This year REBEL PAWN has released it's third full length studio album Born in a Basement Somewhere in New Jersey, now available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and Spotify.

With influences from Radiohead, Foo Fighters, The Beatles, and Fu Manchu, REBEL PAWN will take you on a musical flight through the satire and carnality of the Jersey resonance. A powerful rhythm foundation joined with gritty hooks and fervent melodies will pull you into their reverie. Rebel Pawn is creating a legacy of definitive rock music... or maybe just making up an excuse to hang out in bars.

Venues REBEL PAWN has performed at in the past include: The Brighton Bar (Long Branch, NJ), The Saint (Asbury Park, NJ), The Continental (Manhattan, NYC), The Cup (Linden, NJ), Otto's Shrunken Head (Manhattan, NYC), Buddies Tavern (Parlin, NJ), The Pussycat Lounge (Manhattan, NYC), The Grand Central Bar (Brooklyn, NYC), and EJ's Tavern (Seaside Heights, NJ). They have also been invited back 3 years in a row to play The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival in Berkley Heights, NJ. This year REBEL PAWN was also invited to play the annual VegFest in Bethlehem, PA.
