""Rebel Red's 'Sex Religion Politics' like a party anthem..."

"The underlying feel of the music in the album is of a party anthem - and of summer open-air.
Powered by some wicked slide guitar from Jeff Pevar and Red's sassy voice, lead off track "Dusty Shack" recalls Tommy James and the Shondells for sheer fun, danceabilty and sing-along potential.
As title implies, the album goes from sex (the retro honky-tonk piano driving "Let's Go Home") to religion ("Pray") to politics (the anti-war "Body Count"). An ominous Tony Levin-esque bass line prods "Sittin' Purty," while the swampy "Lazy Rollin' River" has not-so-latent Creedence qualities, and give Red a place to stretch and bend phrases to their limit.
Often, Red conveys the vocal equivalent of finger-pointing in your chest, and other times she's trying to coax you in. But all the time is pure pleasure. "- David Malachowski - Daily Freeman

""Somewhere between Grace Slick and Marianne Faithfull...""

"... somewhere between Grace Slick and Marianne Faithfull - tons of funky blues-based grooves ... rocks like a Haight-Ashbury house party circa 1968..." - Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin

""Sounding somewhere between Siouxsie Sioux and k.d. lang..""

"Rebel Red hits all the hot buttons...Sounding somewhere between Siouxsie Sioux and k.d. lang, Rebel Red's vocal stylings will make you swoon. Rebel Red serves up Rock and Americana that's simply irresistable." - NextMusicBlog.com

"" She had the audience in the palm of her hand...""

"A singer, guitarist and composer of prodigious talent.... she had the audience in the palm of her hand.....if you like Creedence Clearwater Revival and Bonnie Raitt, you will be bowled over by Rebel Red's original songs. Her tunes were all seamlessly performed and, to put it simply, Red really rocked the house." Joe Karr....Times Herald Record - Times Herald Record

"Urban sensibilities and a hankering for open spaces intertwine ... An interesting amalgam of country, downtown New York, pop and R&B influences. "

"" The Bayou Rhythms of Creedence...""

" A very pleasant surprise, this "Sex, Religion, Politics" - especially Red's fine lyrics which make you think about the things she sings about.... she's a big fan of Levon Helm (just like me) and you can hear that a bit in "Let's Go Home" which has something of The Band's ragtime spirit .."Lizard Belly" is another great song: great slide playing by Jeff Pevar gives you the goosebumps. "Lazy Rollin' River" has the idleness of J.J. Cale and the bayou rhythms of Creedence..." - Rootstime

"Top Ten Albums of 2008"

Because those guys and gals get all the press, we want to tell you about the best records that you may not have heard.
#4Rebel Red - Sex Religion Politics
With a voice that sounds like a cross between Grace Slick and Jim Dandy Mangrum, Red, as the album title suggests, has something to say and says it well....." - by Steve Circeo
- Americana Music Times

""Boy, can this lady sing…..""

"Boy, can this lady sing….. I can just picture Rebel Red playing her roots based rock in a smoky ole bar, with the audience eating out of her hands. ‘Dusty Shack’ really showcases Rebel Reds sensational voice … and the songs themselves are superb…." - John Colson - Vent Magazine

Bio

Kim " Red" Peralta is a prolific songwriter and performer who has created her own musical style of rootsrock, incorporating sounds of 60's British Invasion rock, blues, reggae, folk and honky tonk. The Rebel Red Band delivers a lively, toe-tappin' show with a party atmosphere...

Press reviews have likened Red Peralta's voice to Eartha Kitt, Grace Slick, Patti Smith and Marianne Faithful; her songwriting has been compared to Fogerty, Bonnie Raitt, Tommy James and the Shondells, Roger McGuinn and Levon Helm. She has been a finalist several times in the Billboard and Song of the Year songwriting competitions.

The Rebel Red album, "Sex, Religion, Politics", features guitarist Jeff Pevar (Ray Charles, Crosby, Stills and Nash) and saxophonist Erik Lawrence (Levon Helm) and reached #4 on the Americana Music Times Top Ten Albums of 2008.

A new release is scheduled for February, 2011, featuring David Mowry, dobro (of Beaucoup Blue).
