Bio
Even though both Jean-Eudes Turbide and Steeve Poirier lived on the same island, the Magdelen Islands, for almost thirty years, it wasn’t until they both ended up on Prince Edward Island that they discovered each other’s passion for music. In the fall of 2009, Steeve and Jean-Eudes met for the first time, and created the band Rebels. A few months later, Rebels released their first self-titled album which combined various French styles of folk music from Atlantic Canada. Since their first album, Rebels travelled all over - discovering different music and working towards creating a sound they can call their own. The music is a refreshing twist of traditional music from the Magdelen Islands, inspired by the local traditions of the region. Rebels recently recorded a new album, which has been promoted in both Québec and France
