"Emerging Artist Award"

Washington's 2003 Emerging Artist of the Year!

The Redhook Brewery & Made In Washington Stores have joined forces, to provide a new venue for Washington State's unsigned musicians to be heard - a true Emerging Music Award.

2002 was the inaugural year of this program. The tremendous success of the first year has fueled an expansion this year of more recognition and rewards for the winners.

Five winners have been selected and invited to perform at the Redhook
Moonlight Cinema Series that runs every Thursday from July 24 -
August 21, 2003. From those winners, one artist will be selected as
Washington's 2003 Emerging Artist of the Year!

Over 180 performers applied to the 2nd Annual EMA event, representing a wide range of musical genres. We were thrilled with both the number of entries as well as the depth of talent displayed in the entries. It was a very difficult selection process -- in the end, our industry expert panel of judges selected 5 performers to receive Emerging Artist Award recognition for 2003:

Six Minute Mile

The Pale

Plum St.

The Malinks

Rebelz

One of these winners will be the Emerging Artist of the Year 2003, based on performance at Redhook Moonlight Cinema Movie Series in Woodinville, WA. The Moonlight Movies series runs every Thursday starting 7/24/03 thru 8/21/03.

All of us at Redhook and Made In Washington want to thank you for your interest and your application… we truly appreciate it. We look forward to fielding the EMA Awards again in 2004, and would welcome your entry.
