"Reclining Buddha Rocks Again"

Fans filled the small local tavern, Berta's, on Saturday night to see Reclining Buddha play. Although Berta's is not hailed as a music venue, Reclining Buddha began playing there years ago because their practice warehouse was just down the street.
People of all ages and attires filled the bar with expectation of a great night of improvisational jamming, and they weren't let down. At one point, management had to limit the amount of people from entering the bar to avoid fines for violating the fire code.
Reclining Buddha attracts a party, at least thats what lead guitarist and singer Chris Gelbuda says. "We pretty much got started here, and it's always great to come home to our supportive fans and friends. That's why we like Berta's. We could play anywhere else in the Illinois Valley if we wanted to, but when it comes down to it, everyone just has the best time here."
John Scente, the owner, also mentioned that he enjoyed hosting Reclining Buddha's hometown shows because their crowd is very friendly and respectful of those around them.
Reclining Buddha has since moved to Iowa City to pursue larger venues and achieve status among other bands in the jam scene.

Bio

Reclining Buddha got started in Ottawa, Illinois by Chris Gelbuda and Tyler Terrones. After stumbling upon drummer Dustin Stump through a former keyboard player, the band eventually completed itself with the addition of Dave James on bass. After
creating a large following of loyal fans in their hometown, they moved on to larger venues in Iowa City, and now call it home. As hosts of the Iowa City Yacht Club's "Jam Band Jam Session", and frequent midwestern road trips, it's no wonder Reclining Buddha is picking up momentum fast.

Specializing in the realm of improvisation, they make sure every show is a unique experience for new fans and old fans alike. Sets are never the same, and songs are never chosen in advance. Their jams are well thought out, and avoid falling into the tedium in which many modern "jam bands' tend to get stuck. If you haven't seen or heard Reclining Buddha yet, check out the audio files for free, or come see a show.

With two blazing guitarists and a hot rhythm section, you will be left breathless after only 15 minutes!

They have played with bands that are currently huge in the jam scene, including: The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Long Beach Shortbus (featuring Surviving members of Sublime and The Long Beach Dub Allstars), Oteil Burbridge (Of Aquarium Rescue Unit, The Allman Bros., Vida Blue, and several other incredible acts), The Breakfast, Backyard Tire Fire, Euforquestra, Public Property, and Acoustic Syndicate.
