The vision became a reality in 1995 as the first members were recruited from Florida’s Prison System as we embarked on a mission to spread "The Good News Of God " and give hope and help to those who have gone astray with emphasis on today’s Troubled Youth. The Elite Combat Unit was organized and took root in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The name Recovery In Motion, Spiritually and Divinely given simply represents them as recovering addicts, alcoholics, and convicts who are now in motion for the Lord. Our first CD entitled "Yours Acappella " was the beginning of the Ministry. Known to some as "God's Unique and Elite Combat Unit," this group of spiritual warriors comes equipped with the "Whole Armor Of God".
The range of our power packed Ministry includes, Traditional, Contemporary and Acappella. Sharing the Ministry in Churches, Juvenile Detention Centers, Rehabilitation Facilities, County Jails and State Prisons. The group's second CD, "Live In Chicago" has truly been an inspiration to many and has allowed New Recovery In Motion to be in the company of some of Gospel’s greatest artists in: The Canton Spirituals, The Mighty Clouds Of Joy, Vickie Winans, Yolanda Adams, and others, just to name a few. The third release was a 2 song CD and an introduction to our latest release, “The Great Commission”. God has allowed our ministry to grow and change over the years. As the group starting out singing Acappella and to now being accompanied by a 7 member band. Our latest CD release of September 2007 is entitled "THE GREAT COMMISSION ".
