Bio
Red 7 is an original hard rock band
from Prince George, BC. Our sound is
an eclectic combination of quick, fat and heavy rhythms
with high impact and melody.
The formation of RED 7 in late 2012 was the product the right time and place. Instead of the usual remedy to life's tedium of taking a mistress and buying a Harley, RED7's drummer, Brent decided to end his musical hiatus, revisit his lifelong passion for rock 'n' roll and start the search for new collaborators. After an endless line of "dudes that just wanted to hang out and jam to the same old metal classics" he started to lose hope...until his classified ad was answered by brothers, Dan and Matt Morris.
The brothers were looking for something more exciting than their "Nickleback does Kraftwerk" cover project (it was not doing as well as expected). Within a week the three of them were jamming and writing songs on a regular basis and decided it was time to be a serious band.
With a handful of greasy, self-made demos in hand RED 7 continued to write and play a handful of shows in 2013. As summer came to a close the band had a collection of songs that were full of solid riffs, heavy drumming and driving basslines, their lyrics a commentary on society, government, wizards, vikings, dragons and the human condition in general. RED 7's sound is that of Northern British Columbia: hard, loud and ruggedly beautiful.
After a season of writing and crafting a solid set of originals, the guys set to work recording in their home studio. The plan was to record and release an album all by themselves while aiming for the most polished result possible. With the help of a friend, a seasoned sound man, RED 7 recorded during the fall and winter months. The process was an emotional rollercoaster ride, full of painful trial and error (mostly error) and a constant test of the band's resolve.
Determination and a professional approach got them through to the other side and now their first full length album, "You're Analogue", was released in Mid 2014.
With a new sense of purpose, RED 7 plans to make a name for themselves with a great sounding live show full of raw energy and emotion.
