Red River Routes

The Red River Routes experience invites you on a historical journey into the heart of a continent, living the songs, stories, music and dance that give voice to the indigenous peoples on the Red River past and present. We live the story of the Red River through the voices of its people brought to life through the music of traditional drummers, chanters and dancers, Metis fiddling and jigging, French/Metis folksong, to the voice of todays indigenous singer songwriters supported by a full contemporary band. Instrumentation

Lead guitar, acoustic guitar, fiddle, piano, bass, drums, back up female vocals, male and female lead vocalists, traditional chanters and drummers.

Red River Routes are a collective performing group created from functioning independent acts with independent music careers based in Canada. We are united by the same core back up band. The independent artists are Errol Ranville who is the front of C-Weed Band (Canada's premier Aboriginal Country Band), and Ali Fontaine who is backed by C-Weed Band. Both are Aboriginal Canadian singer songwriters. We perform both original material and traditional Aboriginal/Metis folk song, often fusing both in one song.
