"Red Abbey Premieres "One Way Ticket" Music Video"

Las Vegas Pop-Rock-Funk band - Red Abbey, recently released a music video for single "One Way Ticket" off their debut album "Bulldozer." Shot completely in the Nevada dessert, in a mere 2 days - the quality is impeccable. (video below)
On the set of "One Way Ticket"
These guys (and girl) have been on hiatus promoting their album since it's February 2011 release. The band has kept a hectic U.S touring schedule, with a strong focus on L.A and Las Vegas. Management has been booking them at the most legendary music venues on the Sunset Strip, and Downtown Vegas - as well as Festivals.
Red Abbey brings something fresh to the music industry. Funky, old-fashioned Rock n' Roll, is the best way I can describe their signature sound. Singer Thein-nga Palmer-Ordaz, ("T") commands control of the mic and stage with her powerful voice. Guitarist, Trey Ordaz, possesses some serious talent, and it shows with some amazing solos and catchy riffs.
Every song on the record could easily be a radio hit...if and when given the chance. Call your local radio stations and demand Red Abbey! And don't forget to download "Bulldozer" on itunes and follow them on Twitter for all the latest happenings...and make sure to catch them live! - www.thebeat-box.com

"Red Abbey "Bulldozer" (2011) Album Review"

There is nothing unoriginal when it comes to Red Abbey. From the lead singer/violinist’s name Thien-nga (pronounced teen-ya) to the multi-cultural and multi-instrumental nature of Red Abbey songs, Thien-nga and her musical partners Trey Ordaz on the guitar/vocals/tenor sax, Michael Evans on the bass and Nathan Wood on the drums create rock-funk, bluesy, uplifting music that will have listeners energized and engaged.

With influences like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix, Red Abbey has released their latest album, Bulldozer, inspired by raw life experiences and full of lively violin solos and jazzy vocals on a rock n’ roll backdrop.

The first track on the album, "Bulldozer”, has a short static intro with a winding melodic guitar solo which is shortly interrupted by an upbeat, energetic and steady guitar beat accompanied by Thien-nga’s attitude-filled, interval jumping vocals. As the song progresses, the static winding intro is fused with an upbeat, energetic rhythm to create a unique textured rock n’ roll sound. Thien-nga sings, “… In my soul I wasn’t born for ordinary things / I just gotta keep movin' / …cuz you know that I’m a dreamer.”

“Me” has a chaotic sound with dizzy, sporadic guitar solos and flashes of violin accompaniment. It has a confident, sassy vibe with a relentless drum beat and is cleverly titled, as the track sounds like the theme to one’s ego. In this track Thien-nga talks about embracing yourself and not letting others bring you down. She sings, “this is who I am / I’m not gonna change / what you see is what you get / got no strings of a puppet.” After hearing this piece listeners will feel empowered and confident in their own shoes.

The Last track on the album “Beat” has a dim, sexy blues vibe with funky, seductive guitar riffs and Thien-nga’s jazzy, deep vocals as she sings, “Now here’s my story / I met this guy / thought it’d be the same thing / hang out once / or twice / but he has me feelin’ beat / beat / beat / my heart is beating / he pulls me in like a fish on a string / oh he has me spinnin.”

Bulldozer is a diverse collection of music exploring the possibilities of jazz, rock n’ roll and funk (sometimes all in one song). Listeners will enjoy the anticipation and feel alive and interested as Red Abbey bounces from genre to genre within this album.

"Red Abbey One Way Ticket Video Review"

The video came on with some good energy. The song “One Way ticket” sounds like one of those mood ballads you would listen to when you trying to get in the mood to have a good time or need that good energy around you. The imagery is very candid. The desert shots create the concept in the video of a realness you can feel with each drum and high hat. Let us know what you think. - www.alwaytherro.com

"Red Abbey Debut Album Bulldozer Review"

Red Abbey released their debut album Buldozer available on iTunes. It is worth a listen.
Listen to them here.
The record is solid and offers full of danceable beats not to neglect. It is the most aptly named album that I’ve ever heard. They combine catchy , sensual , punchy rock and funk sounds with the seductive voice of Thien-nga that should not let music lovers indifferent. The frenzied rhythm doesn’t falter along the songs. See for yourself.
Track Buldozer is a strong opener that gives the powerful rock atmosphere of the rest of the album. Bass playing in Life’s Avenues is sweet . I recommend you One Way Ticket that contains some brilliant violin parts , very delicious to listen to. If you are a serious rock music lover, you will not disappointed by Me. It is funky. The song also has cool riffs. Hypnotic vocals of Thien-nga fit well with the music. I also suggest you What Can I say, one of my favorite not to miss. Excellent violin playing that I love to hear in rock music. Energetic attack from guitars , just sublime. I like the guitar intro a lot in Breakout.A real hurricane of upbeat sounds that seem almost guaranteed to be played on radios. Why not ? Track Pleasure Paint blend 70's sounds with modern rock music. It is definitely a must-have to listen to.
The album ends as he begins, as strong with Beat.
In so many ways, this is an album with much energy to grab without hesitation. The production is excellent. Everything is awesome. Buldozer is nothing more than a record that deserves everyone’s attention. Spread the word. - Evigshed.com

"Red Abbey- On My Way"

New York City's Red Abbey is made up of Thien-nga Palmer and Trey Ordaz, two multi-cultural multi-instrumentalists who came together after jamming at a party a number of years back. Ordaz has a degree from the Berklee College of Music, and Palmer is classically trained in violin performance, but the eclectic duo make hey with a blend of funk and rock n roll blended around a dynamic stage performance and the electric voice of Thien-nga Palmer. Red Abbey's debut EP, On My Way, features a hungry sound that is full of attitude, sensuality and sx appeal. Produced by Dan McLoughlin (The Pushstars), On My Way puts Red Abbey firmly on the map.

On My Way opens with the empowering "Me"; an unwavering declaration of self that makes some of the best work of violin in a rock song in quite some time. Palmer is part Gwen Stefani and part Kate Bush on a devilishly powerful introduction to the world. "Broken Heart" is a tremendous piece of Pop/Rock songwriting. The chorus is a bit generic, but the verse is powerful and highly memorable. "Red Petals" is an artful monologue on love lost, delivered from the moment of greatest need. The vulnerability in this song is nearly feral in its intensity. Red Abbey unloads a boat load of Funk & Soul on "This Thing", a kiss off song meant to put an end to a bad relationship cycle. It's a tremendous song full of attitude and strength; a must-hear. On My Way closes out with the funky "What Can I Say", a quasi-philosophical song about life circumstances and how they can change without notice. The protagonist here accepts change and rolls with the punches. The song is the weakest one on the EP, yet is a solid tune.

Red Abbey is distinctive. Their stripped-down sound is refreshing, and Thien-nga Palmer's voice is sultry and electric, encompassing a harsh beauty that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Trey Ordaz makes everything work behind the scenes, offering up tight musicianship and co-songwriting that gives Palmer the best settings in which to shine (a sort of Jesse Harris to Palmer's post-punk Norah Jones). On My Way is the sort of debut EP that gets the attention of record execs, radio programmers and new fans. Take some time to check it out Red Abbey while they're still approachable. This duo could rise fast. - Wildy's World
