Redeeming the Lost (RTL) is made of two creative and innovative performers, Terrence “Dark Poet” Johnson, and Alexandria “Glow” Adams. With their soulful hip-hop inspired sounds, they have ministered to many reaching souls in the name of Jesus. Originally from Dothan, Alabama, Dark Poet was introduced to music at a young age as he and his brothers and sisters began to sing as a family at their local church. During his childhood, Terrence gained a love for music ranging from heavy metal to hip-hop. It was when he attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama that he realized that music was one of his passions. It was also here that he would meet Glow, and they began a wonderful relationship in music. A native of Alabaster, AL, Alexandria received music scholarships to Jacksonville State University which encouraged her decision to attend the school, and which would lead to the expanding of her love of music. Under the choirs at Jacksonville State University, both members of RTL would make numerous television appearances including: “Good Day Alabama” on local station WBRC Fox 6; BET’s “Bobby Jones Gospel” in 1999, 2000, and 2001; and on “Atlanta Live,” in 2001, on WATC TV 57. Under the JSU Gospel Choir, they also participated in the City Stages event held in Birmingham, Alabama in 2000, and were vocal coaches as well as vocalist on the JSU Gospel Choir’s first self-entitled album in 2002. The two would continue to work in music together as they joined the praise and worship group JD with Power and Praise. They contributed on two albums, No Matter the Season in 2004 and Brand New Creation in 2007, and toured with the group covering many cities in the southeast as well as Virginia and the Washington D.C area. The two also began performing separately from JD with Power and Praise as they collaborated on songs with a more soul, R&B, and hip-hop feel. Dark Poet and Glow would continue working together as they performed at several churches and events in the Anniston, Alabama and Birmingham, AL areas including the Juneteenth festival in 2006 and 2007. RTL are not only diverse entertainers and vocalists, but have also contributed lyrics and their music arranging skills on several albums. Currently, Redeeming the Lost can be found still ministering in local churches as they prepare for the release of their first album in the summer of 2008.
