"Red Haven at Infinitea"

After playing an amazing toe tapping show at infinitea in March, RED HAVEN are back - and this time as well as Nathan Turner (upright bass, banjo, vocals), Jen Davidson (vocals, saxophone, accordion) and Brendan Steele (guitar, vocals) - they have brought former Blackberry Wood drummer Ryan Trigg along for the ride!

Jen (originally also from Blackberry Wood) and the guys are on their Wolves of the West Tour and when they hit Fernie they will be fresh from their performance at Ymir's Little Lights festival.

This time touring with an opening act folk singer Logan Thackery we are very excited to have the magical gypsy styling's of Red Haven back at infinitea!

From whisper quiet, to hip shaking fast, Red Haven will keep you guessing as to what will happen next. - Fernie Fix

The Road Above You - 2014

RED HAVEN is a name lifted from a broken down fruit stand on the side of the Crowsnest Highway in the Similkameen Valley, where members Brendan Steele, Jen Davidson and Nathan Turner first began playing together on sticky, sunny afternoons in Naramata BC. Since their first performance in November 2013, they've made their way around Western Canada no less than four times, including main stage performances at Tiny Lights Festival, Quadrapalooza, Arts Wells Festival and a guest appearance at Edge of the World Music Festival. Their songs are heavily influenced by two genres that bridge the gap between north and south: the ecstatic swing of a New Orleans street parade, and the friendly folk and indie-pop of the northwest. And in July 2014, Red Haven recorded their FACTOR-funded, debut EP “The Road Above You” with producer Tom Dobrzanski, best known for his work with Said The Whale, Hey Ocean!, and The Zolas. They are currently in the pre-production phase for a full-length release, to be recorded in a quaint and quiet church in the artistic community of Wells BC, just west of Barkerville, where they will participate in an "Artist-in-Residency" and community participation program.

"Red Haven performed music that was simultaneously enthusiastic,
harmonious, funny, and engaging. They had the audience captured by
their charm."
-Nelson Becker, Publisher, Express News

"While also a folk band, Red Haven’s sound is decidedly different. It’s more whiskey
soaked and vaudevillian – a perfect Monday evening pick-me-up. The trio, inspired by a trip to
New Orleans, blends gypsy jazz and indie pop melodies"
