Red i is taking over, join us.
The band was formed by christian, david, and joe, in late 2008, who began writing early songs together in christians garage with the thoughts of combining two of there favorite musical styles, hip hop and rock. As well as rebeling against the ' indie ' music scene in seattle. Being influenced by bands like the deftones, soulfly, korn, and linkin park, we wanted to keep a street hip hop feel to our music but not lose sight of our metal and punk roots as well. After looking for the right bass player for the band, joe found kenneth and he was a perfect match.
Not long after getting kenneth in the group we got our first show ever as a band at El Corazon. As soon as we hit the stage the crowd started moshing, kids were jumping on stage, and david even jumped off stage and started slam dancing with the audience. We were the most popular band of the night. since then we`ve gone on to compete in the battle of the bands at studio 7, played th b.a.r.s. skate jam on vashon island, and even got third place in the university of washingtons talent search usa.
Each band member brings a unique sound and style to the music, with the end result being a sound that is all of our own. Joe brings off time rhythms and heavy rap influenced beats that truely drive the music. Christian brings heavy guitar riffs and mind numbing solos to the mix. with riffs ranging from Nirvana simple to As i lay dying complex. Kenneth slaps and plucks the bass like a mad man, which comes from his punk upbringing and love of Korn. And david tops it all off with his heart felt lyrics. with subjects ranging from social commentary to personal feelings that the audience can relate to.
In all, Red i is a high energy rock band that breaks down barriers between kids. It dosent matter if your a metal head, a punk, a juggalo, hip hoper, thug, skater, or emo. no matter what your into, you'll like Red i.
