Biography

Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a. Red Reyne) was born in the Philippines immigrating to New Jersey when he was 10. A prolific songwriter and musician, Red is ear-trained who has been performing, writing and playing guitar for over 20 years.

His love for rock and roll was fixed after first hearing "Hey Jude" by the Beatles. As a small boy in the islands, he'd always carry around the words of this song, torn from a lyric book and tucked in his back pocket... a near reminder of how a good song should be written.

Red fronts the original NJ based band, RED REYNE which performs in the tri-state area. Red also performs and writes music for an acoustic duo (Celtic harp and guitar) Slight Imperfection and alternative rock band Loa Heymann Band.

Don't Let Them Know

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a. Red Reyne)

Don’t let them know
Walking around in this great wall
Smile, no don’t smile girl
Just be strong, stronger than them

Feeling hard and looking outrageous
With a slight frown and a crooked smile
Don’t say much, let them wonder
Just to sit here and ponder

Then one day, baby you’ll let loose
The real you will soon break through
Walking tall, talking proud
To the other side of town

Rock and roll lady come follow me
I’ll take you where the wind blows free
Far away from this dusty covers
Before you and I get any older

Open Book

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a Red Reyne)

all i ever wanted was to hear you say i love you
all i ever needed was for you to never leave
i was left standing, alone in the dark
in this empty room, when all was said and done.

all i ever wanted was to have you near me
all i ever needed was for you to know
i was waiting, waiting to sleep and dream
Dream of you, when all was said and done.

would you mind if I have a crush on you forever?
would you mind if we’ll never be alone?
can you live knowing we’ll never be together?
when all was said and done.

roads are stretching, just miles of empty streets.
led me through these dusty roads
with no way out and nowhere to begin
in this empty space, when all was said and done.

would you mind if I have a crush on you forever?
would you mind if we’ll never be alone?
can you live knowing we’ll never be together?
when all was said and done.

all i ever wanted was to hear you say i love you
all i ever needed was for you to never leave
i was left standing, alone in the dark
with memories of you, when all was said and done.

when all was said and done.
when all was said and done.
when all was said and done.
when all was said and done.

Rome Crashing

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a. Red Reyne)

All alone, on this bed so cold
Reminds me, tornado skies
Writing a letter to a friend
I don’t mean to send

Faded picture on the wall
Of an old Italian town
Mirror five feet in front of me
Reflections, asking me why

I wanna go, wanna leave
Wanna lie
Gonna cry, gotta get out
Before I die

No room service, no Penn Station
No working lights, no service car
No phones, no internet
No stage, no singles bar
No fear, no more tears
Gonna break down, I’m going down
Train’s gone, leaving me behind
When Rome comes crashing down

Breakdown the beds, climbing the walls
Ask myself, should I make the call
Hear her voice, then it's gone again
No matter, I'm use to the cold rain

I wanna play, wanna pray
I’m falling from the sky
Gonna go to hell
Tonight

No room service, no Penn Station
No working lights, no service car
No phones, no internet
No stage, no singles bar
No fear, no more tears
Gonna break down, I’m going down
Train’s gone, leaving me behind
When Rome comes crashing down

Moment That Will Do

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a Red Reyne)

winter days to summer nights
with bitter winds and careless goodbyes
to look around for reason to love
but eyes are blinded by tears.

a forgotten dream that didn’t last
‘bout boy’s wish that couldn’t be had
his arms are stretched out for the stars
but will he ever learn.

remember when the moon was bright
reflections of our dreams in your eyes
and our shadows would dance along
barefoot with the trees.

now days go by like a warm summer breeze
my eyes are opened as they come near
my wife and children take me to a place
where the water is clear.

you were my lover, you were my friend
i guess those days had come to an end
but a cup of coffee with you is a
moment that will do.

now sheltered under these evergreens
each moment precious like a scene
when I look into my son’s eyes
my dreams still shines through

The Letter

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a Red Reyne)

I found a letter about your dream
That you gave me baby (baby) when I was a fool
You were dying and alone
In an empty room where baby I could not be found

In the dream you longed to tell me
That you need me and you love me
In the dream you cried and cried
Before you died

Was it you or was it me
Written a long time ago I can’t remember
With these words that scared me
But the more I read I realized it doesn’t matter

In the dream I longed to tell you
That I need you and I love you
In the dream I cried and cried
Before I died

Can you feel me grieving, can you hear me call
My hands are shaking, can’t see beyond the wall
It’s getting cold down here
I’m gonna disappear

Well it’s time to come down
To wake up baby (baby) take a look around
With these words that saved me
Scratched in the letter will last forever

The letter told me goodbye
The letter told me why

Then Came You

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a Red Reyne)

I was waiting, for the moment
when I'm alone in this room.
No eyes are watching or
listening to what I do.
In this room, I can see
shadows on the wall.
Heartbeat set the tempo
to what I'm looking for.

You can hear the faint scratches on the walls.
With the quiet's so loud, I can't hear anymore.

Then came you, then came you
To help me write this song
When the candle's about to die,
Then came you.

In the room, there are moments
picture of your face.
Vision of an angel
that's calling out my name.
It always come, moments gone
when the angel disappears.
So I'll wait for the next time
For the muse to reappear.

You can hear the faint scratches on the walls.
With the quiet's so loud, I can't hear anymore.

Then came you, then came you
to help me write this song.
When the candle's about to die,

Then came you, then came you
to make this moment right.
When my world's about to cry,

You can hear the faint scratches on the walls.
With the quiet's so loud, I can't hear anymore.

Then came you, then came you
to help me through the night.
When time is fighting back,

Then came you, then came you
to shatter all my fears.
When the walls are closing in,
Then came you.

Then came you, then came you
to make this moment right.
When my world's about to cry,

Then came you, then came you
to shatter all my fears.
When the walls are closing in,
Then came you.

Long Lost Friend

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a Red Reyne)

As I wonder now, how your life has been
How the years had passed, what your eyes has seen
The people you met, did they care for you?
Did they believe in your dreams?
Did they believe in you?

Did you fall in love, again and again?
Have you finally found, where your heart has been?
And I wonder if you still carry a smile for me
Do you wear a ring for a promise of spring?

The sun has risen, we survived the storm
The road was long, and we’re still standing
I remember now, we're both to blame
Will I see you again, my long lost friend?

All my days has been the wonder of dreams
To give up the past, is my life’s extreme
Where the danger lies, well so I'm told
That dreams and you are hard to let go.

The sun has risen, we survived the storm
The road was long, and we’re still standing
I remember now, we're both to blame
Will I see you again, my long lost friend?

Dance My Lady

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a. Red Reyne)

Its 2 AM, its closing time
But tonight I’m feeling fine
Break down the drums, pack the guitars
But the night it’s still young

So the glasses are empty
But the girls there are plenty
I need to dance tonight

So we’re told, that we must be gone
But the night is falling
And the music calling

Dance, dance my lady
Dance, dance my love
Dance and kiss the night goodnight
Dance, dance my lady
Dance, dance my love
Dance and kiss the night goodbye

The barman said its time to go
But the crowd is saying no
Power the amps plug the guitars
Play the songs that we all know

So the glasses are empty
But the girls there are plenty
I need to dance tonight

So we’re told, that we must be gone
But the night is falling
And the music calling

Dance, dance my lady
Dance, dance my love
Dance and kiss the night goodnight
Dance, dance my lady
Dance, dance my love
Dance and kiss the night goodbye

So the glasses are empty
But the girls there are plenty
I need to dance tonight

So we’re told, that we must be gone
But the night is falling
And the music calling

Dance, dance my lady
Dance, dance my love
Dance and kiss the night goodnight
Dance, dance my lady
Dance, dance my love
Dance and dance till the mornin’ light
Goodnight
Goodnight
Goodnight
Goodnight

Seed Of Hope

Written By: Redentor Jimenez (a.k.a. Red Reyne)

Wendy looks out the window tonight
She’s looking for the light
Hoping for a sign to come
Touch the moon it ain’t so far
Waiting for that falling star

Night’s quiet except for them wrestling thoughts
Counting sheep ain’t enough
A woman’s dream that don’t come true
Her hearts crying I’m failing you
Body’s weak for a child to come through

But she saw the angels lining up behind the moon
Showering the seed of hope to help her through
Take a glimpse of a mother’s child, will she ever know (yeah a dream come true)
Sowing the seed of hope, one day will grow
But she wants to be all right (Yeah, they're gonna be alright)

The morning drive is harder today
Clock’s ticking away
When work is done, yeah its time to go
Can’t wait to see her Bobby Joe
Head for the mountains or see a show

Wendy looks out the ridge, catch a sparkle
Circling ‘round the moon
Closed her eyes drenched in hope
Then she whispers her wish on cue

Under the blanket under the stars
She catches, Bobby’s little boy grin
Their gold rings are shining tonight
Realized its gonna be alright
She held her Bobby through the night

It’s gonna be alright , alright
No need to cry now Wendy, lets drive it home tonight
No need to cry now Bobby, yeah it's gonna be alright
Yeah the moon's out of sight, it's gonna be alright

Won't You Write Me A Song

Written By: Redentor Jimenez and Odarka Polanskyj Stockert

Won’t you Write me a Song
by Redentor Jimenez & Odarka Polanskyj Stockert

Won’t you write me a song
that I can name?
the same way that I’ve given you
poem after poem

Won’t you write me a song
that will not rhyme
nor fit your progression
no place in the music

All I need is melody
which really is your voice
will you let me keep it and speak
only to me?

If it’s in my possession
can I love you forever?
release it at my will
A daffodil in spring?

I know not when it sounds
can’t pledge my presence
no matter how I try
another spring goes by

So please write me a song
and I will name it
capture you if not forever at least
one moment more.
capture you if not forever at least
one moment more.
