Bio

Jennifer Andrea's Red Rose Retreat began 8 years ago at the age of 15 under her own name, creating her own take on radio rock. With a long history of classical piano and choir, she wanted to create something more edgy and offer a look into her world, quickly drawing comparisons to Tori Amos and Vanessa Carlton.

After many self-released albums Jennifer Andrea took to the studio in 2005 to create Deceptive Cadence: My Alibi. This release marked the beginning of the hard rock band called My Alibi and quickly made an impression throughout Milwaukee clubs such as The Rave, The BBC, and The Miramar Theatre as well as garnering favorable reviews in local press such as The Shepherd Express and The Onion. This lead to invitations to branch out of Milwaukee including an invitation to play Locobazooka in Massachusetts.

Despite continually progressing in other genres, Jennifer Andrea felt the need to return to work as a solo artist. After fronting a hard rock band for 3 years, she has recently released “Calories and Caffeine,” a 6 song EP under the name Red Rose Retreat, chosen because of the nature of the song subject matter, "Love is a Mess."
