Red Sea Pedestrians

BandChristian

Our music reflects the wide variety of influences we have each had leading up to this point in our musical careers. A little pop, a little rock, a little country, a little new age. It all comes together to form our unique brand of contemporary Christian music.

Biography

Imagine, if you will: Your family is being tormented, treated as slaves. You work all day under grueling conditions, fed a subsistence diet, and forced to live in the gutter. One day a man comes and tells you God is going to set you free from this captivity. You take your family and join this man, who has many other families with him, as well. You march out of exile, only to find a great sea blocking your escape. All of a sudden, the man says a prayer and the waters of the sea rise up to provide a dry passage for you and your fellow refugees. As you walk through this amazing passage, imagine the sense of awe you would feel towards God Almighty, who displayed His love and His power in such a miraculous way!

Most of us are not being treated as slaves by a cruel ruler who believes us to be less than human. Instead we are enslaved by the time clock, our credit card bills, the telephone, the television, or whatever else we may have given ourselves to. When do we experience that sense of awe in the presence of our Creator? For me the answer is in music. A song can take me right out of the situation I’m in, no matter how stressful or unpleasant, and give me a sense of peace and uplift my spirit. Our sincere hope is that this music will touch our listeners in a special way, and that they will find their own faith stories within the songs . . .and maybe find themselves a little bit closer to God and to each other as a result.

Our influences include, but are not limited to: John Denver, Third Day, Caedmon's Call, Mariachi Bands, Garth Brooks, Bebo Norman, and Billy Joel.

Lyrics

In His Time

Written By: Bill Ingram

The apostle Paul thought he was in the End Times
G C D
That he would live to see the Savior ride his chariot across the sky
C D
Well here we are 2,000 years down the road
C D
And I’ll bet we’ve got a few thousand more to go . . . .

G C D
So I’m gonna live – like there will be a tomorrow
G C D
I’ll love – like it’s going out of style
C D
And I will work to spread the good news that eternal life is ours
C D G
And let God decide the future in His time
D---------C---------G
In His time . . . .
D---------C---------G
In His time . . . .

G C G
It’s so easy to overlook the glory of today
G C D
When we’re thinking of the future or stuck in yesterday
C D
But right now, this moment, is the one we must define
C D
It sets the stage for the rest of our lives

G C D
So we’ve gotta live – like there will be a tomorrow
G C D
And love – like it’s going out of style
C D
And work to spread the good news that eternal life is ours
C D G
And let God decide the future in His time
D---------C---------G
In His time . . . .
D---------C---------G
In His time . . . .

C D C D
You plan for tomorrow . . . and learn from yesterday . . .– but even Paul discovered . . .you gotta live for today!

D---------C---------G
In His time . . . .
D---------C---------G
In His time . . . .
C D
Let’s work to spread the good news that eternal life is ours
C D
And let God decide the future in His time

Lauren's Song

Written By: Bill Ingram

G C G G C G
As we gather here in darkness - Won’t you come and take my hand

C Em G C D
Maybe with our strength together - We can take this lonely stand

G C G G C G
Now I know God has His reasons - And I’m not one to complain

C Em G C D
So I raise my eyes to Heaven - And ask the Lord to heal this pain
(CHORUS)
G C D C G
And I cry come Holy Spirit come - And fill this empty hole

G C D C D C G
Come Holy Spirit come - Heal this hurting in my soul - Heal this hurting in my soul

(v.2)
I remember how she touched us - How she tried to shine Your light

All the things she had to live for - She was precious in Your sight

So I sing this song for Lauren - And I sing it for her friends

Oh I sing it for her family - Help us all to understand

(repeat Chorus)

And Lord for our fallen Patriot - We know your arms are open wide

We know she’s with you up in Heaven - That she’s walking by Your side

Tell her we will not forget her - And through her death teach us to see

Don’t take anything for granted - For tomorrow is no guarantee

C G
Aaaaaa – men (repeat 3 times)
