Red Static

Red Static

BandRockBlues

Blending mind-bending solos, crunchy rhythm guitars, soulful vocals, thunderous bass lines, and solid drumming into a modern-take on early 70s hard rock.

Biography

"I was totally floored when I first heard Hendrix at 14. And then again when
I heard Led Zeppelin at 21. Not growing up on rock and roll because my
parents listened to either country or soft rock oldies really had a lot to do
with me being so influenced by those groups now. So I dug deeper and I
found your Creams, your MC5s, your Blue Cheers, your Black Sabbaths,
and your CCRs....and then it all stopped. I couldn't find much else because
the sound that bands like that represented in that 4 or 5 year era turned into
other things so quickly like hair metal, which I'm not that into. So I said, this
is it...I'm going to write music that makes someone out there go, "Hey, this
reminds me of Zep, or Hendrix, or Sabbath." That raw, bluesy, psychedelic,
rockin sound that only a handful of bands try to reproduce these days. So,
no, I'm not doing anything new. But half the reason I started Red Static was
so that I could write all those tunes I was hoping to dig up one day. Those
songs that no band from that era wrote. And whether I've succeeded in
doing so is up to the listener. Crunchy power chords. The solos with the
bends and the echo and all. That thumping bass. Those drum rolls and
cymbal crashes. All written around blues structures and topped off with me
singing about how some bitch done me wrong. That's what Red Static is."
