"Cult Louth Band Kick Up A Storm"

Dundalk five-piece Redtwelve have a well deserved reputation as a potent live force. That they have managed to capture their power and glory in the studio on this impressive debut bodes well for the future. From the buzz-saw guitar of opening cut 'unopposed' to the Cure-like jangle of 'Afraid' and the low-key, almost partoral acoustic folk of 'Caught Inside', their versatility is impressive. They even demonstrate some clever pop smarts on the the Killers-like 'Just Another' which, if released as a single could well achieve chart action. File under promising.

Bio

Irish rockers Redtwelve are hitting the road to promote their debut album 'Mines'. Recorded in their own studio, they have put their heart and soul into an album, which they will be promoting on their tour around the country in 2010

Over the years Redtwelve have taken part in some of the most prestigious music events in ireland and played with some of the top acts on the circuit. From their first ever acoustic gig as support to folk-hero Josh Ritter, to winners of 'Colleges Band & Song of the Year', they have shown great diversity in their appeal to fans of different styles of music. They have been finalists in the IMRO Showcase Tour and the O2 New Bands Competition, wowing the crowd at both events. They have played alongside established acts such as Duke Special, the Wall brothers (aka The Stunning), Bellx1 and the now defunct Turn. Invited to play at the Elliot Smith memorial events held in the Village, Dublin and The Odessey, Belfast to sell out crowds, Redtwelve were amongst the highlights in both those shows. As a result of their live performances both at home and in the UK they were invited by 2FM to record a live session for the Dave Fanning show, which was well received in music circles.

Following on from nationwide tours they decided to put all the hard work, energy and passion from these shows onto disc. Redtwelve have poured blood, sweat and tears into an album which has been a long, but hugely rewarding journey for them.

All too often, a band will emerge from the underground scene, showing a genuine promise, only to fizzle entirely out, or worse… settle for "local hero" status. Don’t just keep an eye out, don’t just scan the airwaves… stand up and pay attention. You’ll be hearing from Redtwelve.

What the media are saying:

“A fusion of intense, raw music and Ciaran Boylan’s stunning vocals, Redtwelve are further proof that the need to look elsewhere for quality rock bands has evaporated.” - Hotpress
