"I can see why they call it cafe"

I can see why they call it cafe, because like coffee it percolates, and it's rich, dark and aromatic. Let me have that Latin bean juice and pour it in my left ear while I lounge languid so I can recline sublime. - Max. E. Padd

"send all chill heads into outer space!"

Their recent release RMx Volume 1 is an attractive collection of chill out/lounge jams that fuses Latin, jazz, urban beats and samples with electronica that will send all chill heads into outer space. Don't get me wrong these guys are real musicians to the core because throughout RMx Volume 1, you hear live instruments, giving their style an even more organic vibe. - Maurice Edwards - E.O.M. Entertainment

Bio

ReDuX:RMx is a recording studio duo, with Archangel Menezes and Eddie Paton at its core. The concept was born in the cosmopolitan city of Toronto, Canada, where cafes and hip eateries feature a fusion of world cultures. Taking these sounds and combining them with modern electronica, ReDuX:RMx, as their name suggests, have “revisited” and “remixed” their original world music and nu-jazz for contemporary urban living.

Archangel Menezes was a music supervisor for Columbia Pictures Television in LA. Now based in Toronto, he is a media composer and sound designer.

Versatile guitarist and singer Eddie Paton has played on Robert Michaels' Juno award-winning, platinum selling Warner album, ALLEGRO, and performs with such prestigious artists as Amanda Martinez, Billboard world music winner, Johannes Linstead, CBC’s Sook-Yin Lee and Sultans of String.

Together, Menezes and Paton, as ReDuX:RMx, have created their own special brand of world electronica, nu-jazz, that, like the successful Thievery Corporation, has a sophisticated, worldly and urban demographic. Their music has international appeal, with world-wide radio and club DJ airplay, iTunes downloads, online distribution and film, TV and ad placements.

ReDuX: RMx Volume 1 - the debut disc by ReDuX:RMx - is a potent blend of smooth, chilled jazz, a twist of Latin, and hints of world music. The original tracks are performed live by Paton and Menezes with some of the best young jazz and R&B players on the Toronto scene.

TWO, their award-winning follow-up release, expands from world and nu-jazz to world cinematic electronica. The original eleven exotic tracks on TWO use Latin, Euro, funk, Eastern, Asian and Celtic influences with electronica soundscapes, to transport the urban soul across the planet. The track AT PARADISO was chosen for the European Warner compilation, CARPE DIEM 8.

GUITAR PLAYER MAGAZINE, in its September '08 review, said of the track, PALMAS, from the TWO album: "Eddie Paton's sure attack, beautiful acoustic tone, impressive technique, and uplifting melodies add sparkle to this percolating Latin track."

These nu-jazz and electro-world tracks create the mood for lounge, chill and café-hip atmospheres. Perfect for loft-living coffee sipping, late night city driving and before or after a night of clubbing, ReDuX: RMx creates music that is a soundtrack of nonstop original contemporary music for the urban soul.
